Ending (part 1)
Today I went to work on programming an ending in. I thought of an ending and put it in. I played the ending several times to make sure I got it just the way I wanted it to. Making changes, waiting a few minutes for it to compile (it is after all 8 banks' worth of code), played the ending, repeat. To make it easier on myself, I changed a bit of code so the game started at the ending.
I had to play through the whole thing in order to get to the ending once more. I fixed a bug about the level 1 screen with the bee on it. Now what I need to do is compose a bit of music to play during the ending. Right now, it plays the boss song during it. Also, I need to make it so when the game ends, the saved data gets erased. This will be one of those games where you have to turn the Game Boy off once the ending is reached and has been played in order to continue. (Like "Super Mario Land 2"). This should be easy to do. The hard part will be composing the end tune.
I have plenty of room in bank 7 even though it has the boss fight, the game over, and the ending in, so I will try my best to make a great-sounding ending tune in. When I put in the game over code in bank 2, it now only has about 200 bytes left in it. Thankfully I don't need to do anything more in bank 2.
