Health update

Well, the good news is I don't have diabetes. The bad news is I have to get an ultrasound next week to see if I have fatty liver.

I swear, the lab techs had to poke me at least 5 times to get any blood out of me. And they had to get a lot out of me for my ultrasound next week apparently. It hurt quite a lot, but I guess I should be glad that ultrasounds don't hurt. Mom said it didn't hurt for hers (when she was pregnant with me).

I just wish they would leave me alone is all. Me and my fat liver.

It reminds me when I had erysipelas in the spring of 2022. First they wanted a blood sample, but despite two nurses and a doctor, they weren't able to find a good place to stab me. Not until I ended up in the medical ER, the nurse knew where to put the needle and was able to extract enough vials of blood to run the tests, though about everyone were certain about the diagnosis even without the blood sample. The next morning, the new nurse (you never see the same nurse twice in a hospital) managed to find a blood vessel in my upper hand on first attempt, which I complemented her for. Of course she only needed one small vial of fresh blood, not enough to feed Dracula for a week.

I'm obese, but my blood sugar at that point was just at the high end of normal which was good to hear, in particular as I had around 39 degrees fever and a rocket high sed rate due to the bacterial infection in my leg.

That can be just as dangerous as liver failure due to alcohol abuse. If you are indeed diagnosed with fatty liver, please consider taking the treatment advice seriously. Ultrasounds do not hurt at all, the jelly can be cold and you have to wipe up afterwards, but that's the worst of it. Hope it turns out ok, best of luck.
