Stupid daytime.
I woke up at 6 p.m. After about 15 hours of sleep. I don't want to sleep that much. But if I didn't need that much, wouldn't I wake up sooner and, better yet, not feel sleepy when I do? I got reminded of my Intellivision game I forgot called My History Teacher Ate Lemons. So I decided to return to work on it. Mainly bug fixes and minor tweaks to the options screen. I left off at level 3: a desert.
I redesigned the heart. I doubt I could get any better than this, so I guess I'll keep it like it is now. Among the options you can change is the color of Fred's shirt. Here he's wearing pink, one of 8 colors. I'm wondering whether I should change the cacti's bottom part so it's a little more thin. I went on a tear working on this game. I found it fun for the most part, sometimes frustrating, like when I have a sensible code part and it just completely ignores it and does something else.
I am kind of running low on ideas for screens here. So far there are 6 lemons in the game. Most are hidden. A few are in plain sight. And I'm glad I got the saving part done earlier because I would probably have trouble with it now, judging by the way things are going.
Also, it seems kind of weird, but there's a pyramid among the cactis. Hey, there's not much stuff in a desert so I had to think outside the box and mix the two together. Something I wish I could do is make the heart and lemon count always be among a black background. But since I'm using mode 0, I guess I can't.
