Working on the boss

I worked on something again. I started work at about 9 a.m. and I just looked at the clock and it's 2:15 p.m.! Was it really necessary to make it be 5 hours to make the burger to be able to miss the boss shake? Really?

The boss shake now moves up and down. I thought since it did this in the Virtual Boy version I'd figure I'd take a stab at making it do it here too. So what I did to make this huge milkshake mobile was make it part of the background and then have the background scroll up and down. This of course needed a starting y position for the milkshake to be vulnerable, so I put that in and then moved that along with making it scroll. Well, at least I thought it was clever.

 

But this does make the boss screen a lot harder. Another thing I did was match the boss screen background to whatever color the sky (or water in level 4's case) was in the level. Level 2 was a cave, so I just reused level 1's boss sky screen color. It's just as easy as changing one color in the palette.

 

Merry Christmas all. It's tomorrow. Then all those stupid Christmas ads I hate will finally stop annoying me.
