Medieval Mayhem
I just got the game today, and already I see three things that inspired me to make my own version:
#1 - The control is way too jittery, especially on the title screen. A change to the joystick would fix this.
#2 - The "paddles" are way too short. I think I'll make them the same length as in Alleyway or Arkanoid.
#3 - Waiting to get to the end. Because the control is way too jittery and the paddles are way too short, I always get my castle hit first, then have to wait for the others to duke it out themselves. If player 1 gets hit first, I think I'd have whoever has the least amount of hits wins, then second-least be second, etc.
But that's not to say that Mr. Spice didn't do a wonderful job on his game. It is wonderful, but difficult. The graphics are amazing on it, and wouldn't be something I could duplicate with bB. I especially like the title screen music, but the title screen itself I found that one little teeny-tiny push of the paddle can send the cursor like three directions up/down. Well, anyway, that's it for now. I'm going to get the ET Book Cart next month. It's a big purchase, but I want every 32k cart so my collection of 32k carts will be complete. This means also having someone put the NTSC conversion of Fatal Run without Thomas Jentsch's name on it onto a cart.
