Rayman: Raving Rabbids -- I like this game, just got it and Mario. Super Mario Galaxy -- Scored a used copy for $35, haven't touched it yet. I have nothing for the virtual console even though there is some stuff I want. Just don't like the DRM Nintendo is doing. Hex. legeek Posted May 23, 2008 Share Posted May 23, 2008 Excite Truck - Liked what I played of it so far The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess - have mixed feelings on this one, really enjoy parts but wish it wasn't a blatant Ocarina of Time 2. need to finish Mario Party 8 - 3 out of 5 (best Mario Party yet) (wife will play) Metal Slug Anthology - 3.5 out 5 (review) Rayman Raving Rabbids - 3.5 out of 5 (review) Red Steel - wasn't that bad at first blush... Super Mario Galaxy - really like it so far, need to finish Wario Ware Smooth Moves - 2.5 out of 5 (fun but to too short and too easy) Wii Sports - 4.5 out of 5 (review) Zack and Wiki - really like it so far, need to finish (wife will play) I also had Elebits and Super Monkeyball, but ended up selling or trading them... I love to explore the seas. Even though you can't be harmed, once I went into a trench ... real deep .. and it unnerved me! Spotting the goblin shark - I didn't know this was a real creature - was also a bit unnerving. Ugly! I'm quickly growing weary of the Enya-type tunes though, need to buy an SD card and load it up with some new songs. Dang it , why do I care about that boat girl's problems?! - NiGHTS JoD - I had rented it,finally bought it for $20, but I have yet to play it since buying it. The thrill is gone, for now .. buy I'll get to it eventually. No rush now that its on the shelf. - Super Smash Bros Brawl -- Cafeman Jr1 and Jr2 loved this game and played it a ton. Nintendo: - Mario Kart Wii - getting the most play lately, laregely due to online. - Super Mario Galaxy - Lots of fun but I haven't had time to get far - Metroid Prime 3 Corruption - Having a hard time getting "into it" actually. Will try after Mario Galaxy. Nice art direction though ... wish more Wii games looked like it - Super Smash Bros Brawl - Getting less play than Mario Kart but a good game - Endless Ocean - Like Cafeman, I love it. Totally engrossing for me, but I love snorkelling too. Also a nice looking game (underwater, not on the boat) and quite different from anything else I've played - Link's Crossbow Training - Not into it but bought it for Mrs Drac who isn't into video games yet is an assassin. She's beaten it. - Wii Sports - a fun party game. Third Party Games: - Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock - A blast, but I like these games. - Resident Evil: The Umprella Chronicles - Haven't had time to play it much, but I like it so far. Not going to replace Resident Evil 4 (have the GC version not the Wii one) but fun in its own right. Any news of RE5 for Wii? - Marvel Ultimate Alliance - Bought this when I got the Wii. What a pooch, IMO. Hate the controls and find it as much fun as watching paint dry. - Spider-Man 3 - Also kind of dull and hard to control, IMO. I liked some of Activision's other Spider-Man games (particularly Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man: The Movie and Spider-Man on Dreamcast) but this one didn't hold my attention. So, according to this, I seem to be one of those people who supports Nintendo games over third parties. Not really intentional, but there hasn't been much from third parties that I liked on Wii. On the GameCube, I think this ratio was actually reversed with me playing many more third party games than Nintendo games. The big stickler for me is how the controls are used. I think the Wii is brilliant in terms of innovation with that Wiimote, but I also think that a) not all games use it well; and b) not all games benefit from having it. My wife and I like rail shooter light gun games and at $20 it seemed like a good idea. I also got Ghost Squad last week for like $10 on ebay.
