cas
Hi, I have prepared the complete BEWE-DOS Manual for the Web, it can be found in the Wiki - http://atariwiki.strotmann.de/xwiki/bin/view/APG/BeweDOS BEWE-DOS is a SpartaDOS compatible DOS published 1995 by ABBUC and written by BEWE Soft Jiri Bernasek BEWE-DOS has a low memory footprint (MEMLO) and does not use the RAM under the XL-ROM, so it works on an Atari800 and with Turbo-Basic. The DOS is freeware. The DOS-ATR-Images can be found attached to the manual wiki article. Carsten

Roydea6
Hi, I have not used this DOS because I never had the disk with the manual on it.. Very nice manual and now I also have it on the disk.. I wonder maybe I just never tried the back of the floppy. Very much like SpartaDOS. In a couple of quick tests of this DOS I noticed that with an emulator the Rtime8 functions are not found, so an emulator with RTIME8 inabled the time is always the same.. Turbobasic runs very well, and I like that.. Am I missing a command to get the emulated RTIME8 cartridge recognized.. Well Thanks for this. Now to test this DOS with a real 800xl and APE interface to check if APEtime will be recognized.. And also plug in my RTIME8 cartridge for further tests.. Thanks Again! In BEWE-DOS, in order to achive the los MEMLO, there is no clockloader enabled and laoded by default. But you cvan load the RTIME8 driver. Gury
Maybe it's time for me also to look more detailed into BEWE-DOS and SpartaDOS, which are top-class Atari DOS-es.
Roydea6
With all the talk about RTIME8 cartridge on the Forum today. I got out my Cartridge and hooked to the 130xe but the time is not set correct. I have forgotten how to set the clock on the cartridge. Is there a program in BEWE dos to do this. No, I want to download this DOS but I'm not seeing it on the WIKI page. Also the author seems to have written a music app, but I can't find a place to download that either. :/

spookt
Cas included the BEWE ATRs as attachments on the Wiki page of the manual. If you scroll right down and hit the plus sign next to "Attachments" you should see them. Thanks for the online manual BTW Cas
Syfo-Dyas
OK, I got the DOS, but the link rdea6 posted for Fun Music Composer takes you to the same link I posted. As fate would have it, there does not seem to be a download for it anywhere. Sorry to get off subject, but it looks awesome!

Syfo-Dyas
Return it is! I went to http://atariarea.krap.pl/ and asked around in the forums (man I need to learn Polish), and they linked me to this ATR file which boots into BEWE-DOS, and has Fun Music Composer and a DOC file for it in the directory listing!!! Now I forget... ...what Atari program do I use to load up DOC files... It's been over 12 years since I've done that. EDIT: Forgot to post the link to the ATR file: http://ftp.pigwa.net/stuff/collections/holmes%20cd/Holmes%201/ATR%20Programs/Applications%20A-Z/Fun%20Music.atr That FTP is PACKED BTW, goto ROOT and check it out! Boot with this as D2: then copy FUNMUSIC.DOC,E: or P: or use any test viewer XR40 EDIT.COM THE LAST WORD 3.1 extract it from the atr. and use PC IF you use the emulator copy xxxxx.doc,H:xxxxx.txt
+CharlieChaplin
Well, let`s assume you have the latest version of Bewe-DOs (version 1.3) and let`s also assume the DOC file you want to read is a standard ATASCII text. Then all you have to do in Bewe-DOS is type: TYPE FILENAME.DOC (or was it TYP FILENAME.DOC ?) where Filename is the filename of your DOC file of course. In other words: Bewe-DOS supports viewing/reading ATASCII text-files internally ! -Andreas Koch.
+bf2k+
Does BEWE Dos support hard disks? If so, does it have it's own format routines for HD support?
Syfo-Dyas
Thankx for all the DOC reading info guys. And yes I'm interested in the Hard Drive Support aspect of BEWE DOS my self, that or the ability to make 16MB Floppy ATR files for use with my SDrive NUXX
