Mord
So to make up for it, here's some Ball Blazer. Also some Dark Chambers.
Mord
Also, a little off topic (Although it's restricting me a bit of doing more screenshots of some games) but my prosystem emulator is failing to play a few games. The first one to come to mind was Scrapyard Dog. It loads the rom then sits there at a black screen. I used this for making the maps back in 2006, so it SHOULD be working... Anyone have any ideas why it would suddenly stop playing a few roms but not all? Edited October 11, 2008 by Mord

Albert
For scrapyard dog, it might be useful to add a link to the mapouts we did for the entire game a year or two ago. Drat, beaten to the punch. This is what I get for posting before reading the entire page. Yeah, have to thank Mitch for pointing them out to me. ..Al

Mord
Nice screenshots. Which version of ProSystem are you using? Also, make sure your prosystem.dat isn't corrupted. Mitch I was using both 1.0 and 1.1 with the same results. I'm guessing prosystem.dat or something got corrupted somewhere, as I downloaded 1.2 and things are workin' fine. And so, some Motor Psycho. Mord
And so, some Motor Psycho. And a little Double Dragon. I'll add more of these a bit later after my wrists feel a little better and I can get to the higher levels. For anyone who wants to try their hand at the higher stages, or at least start off at stage 2, I'm including a save state. All the enemies have 2 AI patterns it seems. Either approach you to attack you, or attempt to walk behind you. You'll know they're planning to attack (And will try to smack you down if you get close) by moving up and down. If they try to match your movement, they'll attack if you get close. If they ignore you, and just walk ahead however, it means they're trying to get behind you. You can jump kick them safely. Whenever they're hit they seem to switch patterns. At times you can jump kick an enemy repeatedly if you time it right. jump kick them, take a quick step away from them then start another jump kick. If it's timed right, you'll knock them down again just as they finish standing. This is more risky than trying to determine their attack mode, but takes far less time to defeat them. dd_stage2.zip
Mord
And since these don't really strain my wrist, a bit of Crossbow.
Shannon
Isn't crossbow a light gun game? How'd you play it? What's the word on this new palette? Is it the be all end all? I'm about to reissue a7800x with dual preview and movie playback support so I might as well do a palette update while I'm at it.
Artlover
Isn't crossbow a light gun game? How'd you play it? Did you miss the first screen shot?? What's the word on this new palette? Is it the be all end all? I'm about to reissue a7800x with dual preview and movie playback support so I might as well do a palette update while I'm at it. Is there even any issues with the existing palletes in a7800x? It currently has: New Stella NTSC Old Stella NTSC Z26 NTSC MESS NTSC MESS PAL New Stella NTSC to me looks pretty close on my TV to what I'm seeing in the screen shots. Mord
And a few more double dragon from stages 2-3. I found the elbow move very useful as another strategy. If you can get an enemy against a wall you can just keep elbowing them every time they stand up. This is also useful at places with platforms, as you can't actually knock an enemy over one. In effect it's the same as hitting them against a wall. The advantage of that is when they have to jump up on the platform to get to you, they're basically walking right into your trap. (Second batch of enemies in stage 2 fall for this all the time, maybe even the first if you're able to get on the platform. Also, I hate that bridge in stage 3. Mord
You're really kicking ass. ..Al Nay. Kung Fu Master is kicking ass. Mine. Might need a different emulator for Kung Fu Master screenshots While version 1.2 handles the rom mostly well, it seems shifted. Compared to how the rom looked when I tried it with the 1.1 I had... Anyway, here's some shots of it.
Shannon
Also make sure to snag the updated palette file for ProSystem. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=1552938 Mitch The palette I was referring to is the one mentioned in the above quote. Which happened to be the 2nd messeage of this thread.

DracIsBack
Also, I hate that bridge in stage 3. There's a bug that lets you walk behind the bridge. If you walk right to the back and to the edge of the bridge, the computer prevents you from going any further. But if you jump kick twice, you can walk behind the bridge and avoid the jump altogether.
Trebor
A little Ms. Pac-Man love...I cheated a little with the screenshots though "skipping" to the levels. If no good, let me know Al... I hope MESS is updated with the much better palette eventually. It would make taking the screenshots easier too. Just press F12 - automatic default is PNG, and all is placed nicely in the a7800 folder under the snapshoots folder. -Trebor
