Austin
Jaguar High Score Club: Top-Scores Database (Last updated 6/21/2012) This is a basic database for the highest scores obtained in games played during Jaguar High Score Club competitions. All scores listed fall under the most-recent Jaguar High Score Club guidelines and rules, with all scores listed obtained via playing on default game settings unless noted. Links will be provided to each respective HSC thread that the scores were obtained in, as well as links to the AtariAge forum profiles of each high-scoring player. In a nutshell, this list will serve a variety of purposes including (but not limited to) providing an easy reference point for the top Jaguar HSC scores reported, keeping a record of what has and has not been played in the Jaguar HSC, providing a basis for comparison for those that want to better their own scores (for HSC purposes or not), and giving credit where credit is due! This listing will be updated regularly as new games are played and old records are beaten in the Jaguar High Score Club. If you would like to try and best the best, please continue reading below. To keep this thread and the Jaguar HSC in general relatively clutter-free, please follow these guidelines when submitting new scores to old HSC rounds: Do not post a score submission on this thread (It will not be accepted--This thread is reserved for feedback on this list only); Do not post any new score submissions in HSC threads other than what's designated in this thread (each game has a respective link to the original HSC the game was played--If you bump a thread not listed here, your score will not be accepted); Do not create new threads in the main HSC forum, otherwise your score will not be accepted. For any other questions, please see the updated Jaguar High Score Club Rules for further details. Special thanks go to Laird for helping me expand on this list as well as verify consistencies. Also, I would like to give my thanks to everyone else who has provided feedback so far. If anyone else has any discrepances with this list in general, please leave a comment below. kgenthe
Very nice idea. If you're looking for ideas, I've always liked Neo Geo For Life's style. That is a much smaller site though: http://www.neogeoforlife.com/forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=25 All games are always open, and "medals" are awarded if you place in the top three. The medals appear below your avatar on your posts. And there is a master Hall of Fame thread.
roadrunner
I put together a list of the all time records for the 5200 and 7800 HSC's not too long ago. doctorclu holds quite a few of the 5200 HSC records.
Austin
Hm, that's actually about what I had in mind. Ours won't be quite as cluttered though, with links to each specific HSC thread if anyone wants to take a look at screenshots submitted. Regarding competitions being open, ours are always open as well. Anyone can feel free to submit a score well after a round has ended. Hell, I remember that when I first joined up here a little over a year ago, one of the first things I did was submit a score for Raiden, even though the competition had been over for months. There's not a lot of incentive other than to have your name at the top of the list showing that you're the best (and you've probably put some work into the score), but that's enough incentive, IMO (at least it is for me). Admittedly, having something like a medal system would still be pretty cool though. Unfortunately I don't think anything like that has been implemented on this board (or at least if it's available, it's something that Al has disabled). Very nice idea. kevincal
what about adding jag high scores from other places? like such: www.twingalaxies.com http://www.angelfire.com/nv/jaguartop50/
Austin
what about adding jag high scores from other places? like such: www.twingalaxies.com http://www.angelfire.com/nv/jaguartop50/ Too much leg work, not worth it. Anyone serious enough to think about world records (I know there's very few, if any, here) should know well-enough to visit Twin Galaxies anyways. It's pretty easy to look up scores there. What I've just realized in doing this (in its incomplete state so far) is that we will now have a good idea of what's been played and what hasn't been played over the years. kevincal
in some of the older hsc threads i already added times from different places on the web so no leg work there. i thought it would be cool to just gather scores from anywhere to see where everyone truly ranked.

kgenthe
The Germany HSC for Super Burnout was standard bikes only. Wheels of Terror was the bike used (not The Punisher).

Austin
All right, the original post is now complete! It will be updated as new games are played, and old scores are beaten. A PM has been sent to DoctorClu to have this pinned at the top.
Austin
Would anyone be interested in the idea of submitting scores to fill in some of the blanks above? I can start a new thread and offer a participation point for each game played. I would like to get some of these blank scores filled in. The_Laird
I can go through some of my games next week for you and look at the scores I have saved if you like?
Austin
I can go through some of my games next week for you and look at the scores I have saved if you like? Hm, possibly. What does everyone else think of this idea? Part of the point is that the scores were obtained in the HSC, but I don't know.. Post your opinions, I am curious to know how everyone else feels about this.
kevincal
that sounds too easy! i dunno, prolly should use scores from jag hsc / new scores.

I want to see (and compete against) people playing their games today.
kevincal
But I have an idea though. How about include 1 highscore from a Jag HSC member who recently played, but also include the world record highscore that can be found on the net? That would be interesting. I dunno......... I want to see (and compete against) people playing their games today. That's what I'm thinking, too. I think it makes more sense to have people play for new scores at their own leisure for participation points. The scores will technically have been obtained while playing in this HSC. but also include the world record highscore that can be found on the net? That would be interesting. I dunno......... This has been suggested before...

What I've just realized in doing this (in its incomplete state so far) is that we will now have a good idea of what's been played and what hasn't been played over the years. The thing with adding scores from various places, is that each place has a different set of rules for each game. At Jaguar Top 50 for example, their Club Drive contest was for three laps and for Cybermorph, you played until you lost your first life. The vast majority of games at JT50 had different rules than what we play at here.

In our HSC I am trying to keep the rules as basic as possible with each game to have the most-even playing field possible.
