Good luck with the first one; hopefully it doesn't turn into a cascade of trouble. I hope it doesn't either, the only thing I really worry about is that chip on the far right, and the pads it's soldered to, I'm not confident enough in my soldering skills to unsolder a chip with pads that aren't 100%. I mean It did spring to life and I did play a 2600 game on it for around 5 minutes (not going to apply power to it again until I get those caps and Vreg replaced). I am looking at installing a UAV especially if the RF doesn't clean up, the RF output is far worse than my 2600, and nowhere close to how clean the RF output of the 2nd 7800 is.

It honestly doesn't look too terrible, at least from what I can see in the photo. Give it a good cleaning with a soft toothbrush and white vinegar, possibly followed up by Deoxit or similar. That should eventually get the rust broken off enough that desoldering shouldn't be a total nightmare. On the plus side, it's a 74LS174, which are cheap and widely available. If pads do get lifted or it's just too shot to not replace, at least it'll be a good candidate for a socket and bodge wiring. Might even want to start with cutting it from the PCB and just replacing it outright to be safe.
Dissy614
Another for the list: A1 77 5922417 Original owner (childhood birthday gift) Only perm-mod is a pin header added to the expansion port. My composite mod plugs into that. RF modulator intact and no case holes.

Astal4
I've got AT85034819 here with an S-video mod and a blue LED. I've repaired a previous owner's bad work. It's sadly not in great shape from previous owners. Got expansion port as expected. RF intact with the S-Video mod. This thread doesn't feel like the right place either though. Lord_of_Sipan
Mine is 72R4BR A1 78 5961655. System is not modded and works fine. I actually have a pretty clean RF output from this unit, honestly better than several other consoles I own with RF out.

I'll strongly recommend adding @-^CrossBow^-'s mount board to that UAV. Need to write mine up at some point, but it's a huge improvement over just the UAV by itself on the 7800. Seen it being installed on one of his videos on YouTube.
Atariboy2600
Serial Number: 72R4BR A3 84 5032174 Last year I got my third 7800 system I found in a plain box that also has that classic 7800 Super System box style but all white and it also works okay. It has no side PORT. Edited January 19 by Atariboy2600
+x=usr(1536)
Received A1 75 5862733 today. I've been on-again, off-again looking for a machine with the full expansion port (not just the sticker and/or hole), and this one turned out to have it. It wasn't visible in the seller's photos, but the serial number range that it falls into seemed promising, so I took the chance and it paid off. Overall, it's pretty clean. Needs a bit more than the wipedown I gave it to remove surface dust, but not much more than that. No case damage at all, and while there are a few signs of use on it none of them are anything that really detract from it - mostly just small scuffs. It was sold as not working, but powering on. Plugged it in, hit the switch, and... It's fully-working The RF output is really good for a 35-year-old system, and even the power switch feels like it's been used, but isn't worn out. The plan is for this one to be the kept-stock reference unit. The daily driver 7800 has already had a UAV installed along with a couple of other things, so it can keep on in that role. Kind of want to keep this one as-is because it's basically just a good, solid console.
