As usual, I haven't had much time for shopping since accidentally getting a job a little over two months ago, but I did find some stuff recently, mostly this weekend in San Antonio:

Recently:

Final Fantasy VI piano sheet music book, $8

Goof Troop SNES empty box

Genesis Jungle Boox empty box with instructions

Xbox Doom 3 limited edition with metal can case AND plastic slipcover, $10 (gamestop)

SNES Lost Vikings loose, $4

Sony U-Matic recorder, $5 (haven't tested it yet, but I got a play-only unit for $10 last year)

Gozilla Final Wars DVD, $4 (with dual audio and subtitles)

Magna Carta box with art book, $50 new (they're already going for $70 new on ebay, good ol' Atlus)

This weekend:

"Completely Mad" book, $4

Macintosh LC, $3 (it has four socketed 27010 EPROMs in it and was worth three bucks just for that)

Two more "skinfit shield" and one more "3in1 case" for PSP, $3 each (that is best PSP skin I have found so far, and there are still some left at Texas Thrift on SE Military)

Starship Titanic, PC version, $2

Genesis Lost Vikings, Sonic 2, Alien 3, Puggsy, all with box and instructions in excellent condition, $2 each

Sega Genesis 2 + Sega CD + one power supply brick, $3

JVC SVHS-ET VCR, works, $7 (I already had a different style JVC SVHS-ET deck and two remotes)

Power Glove with no accessories, $1 (it's so bad)

three PSP 2200mAH Stamina batteries, new in hang cards, $10 each

I'll probably head out for more today... after I can get the cat off my lap.

So, i picked up a few carts for the Atari 800 or whatever it is today. I don't have the system, but i was so surprised to find anything gaming related at a thrift store, i got 'em anyway. Most are in pretty good shape, although they're cart only. They were bundled in bags of two for $3.99, so basically these were all $2 each:

Popeye

Pengo

Dig Dug

Movie Musical Madness

Peanut Butter Panic

Kaboom!

Time Bound

James Bond 007

So...i don't really know anything about the Atari 8-bit stuff. Were these worth picking up for the price?

I think $2/pop is pretty good for those - I'd have definitely bought them. I love the 800's games, you should pick up a system one of these days (800xl preferably)!

By the way, your avatar is one of my favorites on the site! ;)

Oh, i'll definitely be picking up the system one of these days, i've heard nothing but good things about it since getting those games. Might not be soon, but i've got an eye out for a good price on one. :)

Thanks for the avatar compliment as well. I drew it specifically for avatar purposes, lately i've been thinking about coloring it and upgrading it to t-shirt status. :D

Finally got my 1st working 5200!

Came with trackball controller, power supply, RF switchbox (all functioning perfectly!), non-working cx-52 controller (took it apart, cleaned it & added foil tape to buttons. Got it in working order!) & 5 games.

Found all this @ an antique show/flea market for $35 :-D

A nice looking Sony Playstation Dual Analog controller, the first analog controller Sony ever made. before the dual shock line. SCHP-1110

Turns out I don't have a single game that can "use" this controller according to a few FAQ's I found via Google but I'll give a few Dual Shock compatible games a try. Has analog and digital switch. Supposedly it uses potentiometer rather than rotary encoder or hall effect sensors.

Didn't find any on eBay (current or past) and found little info other than a small list of supported games.

Oh yeah paid only 99 cents

Got a bunch of great stuff tonight at a thrift store...this one place around here is turning into a gold mine lately.

Atari Paddle Plug n' Play- $2

Disney PnP, with game key- $3

Power Joy- $4

Power Joy Voyager- $5

Slik Stik Atari joystick- $2

And best of all, this weird dancing Shin Chan plush for $5. He's wearing a bee suit and he sings this easter song, i can't find a damn thing about it online. The tag is in Japanese and labeled 1992. That's all i know. Under the pics here, i've included a link to a YouTube video i made of Shin dancing. Check it out, it's totally worthwhile. :)

Had a good thrifting day today, though I didn't really know how good until just now.

I found a Magnavox CM8705 color monitor. At the time I noticed it had composite video and mono audio inputs, plus a couple of proprietary-looking RGB inputs. I figured if nothing else, this would be another decent monitor for testing old computers with.

It turns out this is basically a third-party equivalent of the cherished Commodore 1084, and those "proprietary" RGB inputs are used by the Commodore 128 and the Amiga!

The sad and amusing thing is, even though I have a couple of Amiga 500's that I've been waiting to find a monitor for, I still can't use them! I have the right monitor now, but I still need a cable!

And just to make things more amusing, I actually do have the right cable to connect this thing to a Commodore 128... but no Commodore 128.

Oh well. It looks like the Amiga cables don't go for too much online, so maybe I'll spring for one in the near future. The monitor works quite well with composite video (sadly no S-video capability), so I don't think I will have any trouble with it.

Price: five whole bucks.

bumb n jump -nes

top gun -nes

skate or die -nes

knight rider -nes

gauntlet -nes with box, instructions and poster

i needed all of these nes titles so i was pretty stoked

warlords -2600 boxed with instuctions

homerun -2600 boxed with instuctions

blackjack -2600 boxed with instuctions

"pac man" card game. complete in box with 42 cards and 4 game boards.

my buddy grabbed a whole bunch of boxed games for the 2600 also. Spider Fighter among them. We both already have all the 2600 games that we grabbed but lacked the boxes for all of them so this was a pretty good score for us. We also saw a beat up 4 switch woody (console only) laying in a pile of electronic stuff. Got it for 4 bucks. Took it home. Fired it up. Runs like a champ. Prob sell it after cleaning it up with some duplicate carts that we got
