chrisbid
i found an atari portfolio pocket computer for a dollar at a garage sale today. its probably almost completely useless, but im sure somebody will be willing to trade for it
egdinger
I got castlequest for nes at a yard sale for 80 cents, is it rare? Boy I found a second hand shop that has an atari 2600 with 20 games for the low low price of $100, sega cd games at the low price of $25 (which is 15 more than the dreamcast ) and a used dreamcast keyboard for $20, he also had a dreamcast for $20. Why is the keyboard worth as much as the system? Needless to say I'm not going to be going back there.
Raijin Z
DC keyboard is a little difficult to obtain. You got fucked on the Atari. http://www.google.com/search?q=nes+rarity+guide
Jasoco
The Keyboard for the DC is so easy to find. I see them everywhere that sells DC games. And for $2-$5. $20 is bull.

Raijin Z
My outer limit for thrift hunting is a seventy mile radius around my city. I've never seen a DC keyboard outside of a dedicated gaming store.

vb_master
Found a stock pile of SNES games, passed all up. Found a crazy kid wanting $100 for a PSOne, passed up. Found another crazy kid wanting $85 for a PS2, passed up. Found a $30 portable LCD TV, passed up. It's really hard to find any Atari stuff around here. I'll revert to Ebay for now, because I got $223 from 4 diecast cars.
donkeykong1
The Keyboard for the DC is so easy to find. I see them everywhere that sells DC games. And for $2-$5. $20 is bull. I agree, I bought 2 brand new ones in box for $2.00.

Raijin Z
Alright, there are quite a few Ohioans in the boards... Are there ANY non-shitty sections of Ohio for thrift hunting? Northeast is practically BARE when it comes to gaming/computer finds. The northwest corner of PA isn't much better.
chrisbid
the thrift stores in columbus arent that great, but the mom n pop stores are outstanding for good deals
egdinger
Uh just you know I didn't buy the atri for $100 I looked at him and ran out of the store. He also had a used ps2 (probably with disk read errors) for $120?
Raijin Z
Yeah, I realized that after I posted, but since editing breaks the server and trimming the board is a mortal sin, I said screw it.
DeV0
I picked up a gamecube memory card and eternal darkness for $10 today. Seems as if now is the time to stock up on cube titles here in aus, cheap everwhere
Raijin Z
Meh, $10 is an okay price for a memory card, but I would have left ED behind.
Jasoco
I got ED for $5.
SteveW
Just hit a couple places today. The first store had nothing, but at the second, I found two WICO Command Control joysticks, virtually new. One looks pristine, there isn't a scratch on it. And the other only has some dust and a scratch or two. I paid $3.99 each for them. And they also had a bunch of boxed Intellivision games, most of which I already had. But I couldn't remember if I already owned Armor Battle and Sea Battle, so I bought them for $1.99 each.
gulag picture radio
IT's been a while since any good finds came my way, but today was rather good. Atari XE Flight Simulator II - FREE 13 TI-99 games for .90 each: Addition and Subtraction 2 (does anyone find the idea of a sequel addition game as funny as I do? What the hell did they forget to put in the first one?) Alpiner A-Maze-ing The Attack Blasto Car Wars Chisolm Trail Home Financial Decisions (this'll be real helpful) Number Magic parsec (interfaces with speech module) TI Invaders Tombstone City Video Games 1 (are any of these games any good?) Atari 2600 box full of stuff - $8: Atari four switch regular joystick Slik Stik ROMscan (or similar) device for hooking up 6 carts to the 2600 Astroblast Atlantis Berzerk Combat Cosmic Ark E.T. Empire Strikes Back Frogger (with photocopied endlabel?) Ms. Pac-Man Pac-Man 2x Phoenix River Raid Soccer (tele-games) Space Jockey Super Breakout Trick Shot Video Chess Yars' Revenge I also got one of those V-tech Me-mo-me clock/keyboard things. I think that it's like a Furby but has some vaguely useful things built in - like a clock. Isn't it nice to know that there are still deals to be had out there? Radio F Software
Heh..... about 2 years ago I got a copy of Bug Hunt for XE for like 3 bucks.
SteveW
(are any of these games any good?) Parsec is great. Car Wars is like the Atari 2600 game Dodge 'Em. Blasto is based on an old arcade game, and as far as I know, the only classic port. It's fun, but the music starts to wear on your nerves after a while. The rest of the games are between 'okay' to 'boring as hell'.
vb_master
NES Toploader, original zapper, dogbone controller, weird turbo NES controller, and power supply - all works... $20 !
vintagegamer89
You got a top loader for $20?? Wow, basically the only things I find in thrift stores are E.T. or Pac-Man carts for $3.00. Garage Sales are where most of my stuff comes from baby
