flashjazzcat
Existing software will be the same - but you get the benefit of much better quality RGB video output. PAL mixing doesn't work, though. Worth keeping the legacy output too if this is important to you.
spookt
Hey Folks Just about to cough up my cash. I know that Dom ordered one. Has anyone else in the UK gone in? I'd be happy to combine on shipping if it makes sense, but obviously I (or whoever) would probably have to reship once they arrive here so that might wipe out savings. I only really know of Flashjazzcat who is near enough for me to hand deliver. Let me know today so I can pay the man
flashjazzcat
I only really know of Flashjazzcat who is near enough for me to hand deliver. Very decent of you - I accept! EDIT: I know I didn't order one of these, but has anyone mentioned I'll happily fit them for UK folks not adept at desoldering / dremelling? I'm already fitting one off this run. cfn
It would be great if I could use a VBXE 2 to get RGB from an Atari 5200. Would it be possible to follow this guide? http://www.atariage....21-rgb-in-5200/ The guide states that "If the module VBXE has batch other than 1.02 must be reprogrammed."... candle
it is possible there is only one atari 5200 with vbxe that i know of, and its vbxe 1.1, but it doesn't change a thing

I would guess the RGB output would be fine, when installed in a 5200, its the extra VBXE features that are questionably accessible from the 5200... unfortunately i dont have a 5200 for full testing... I am sure candle will respond when he sees this, if not I will poke him with a stick until he gives me an answer ;') EDIT:(see, he answered while I was typing this...) sloopy. candle
there is fully featured FX core available for 5200 - with some changes during to memory map of 5200, but that is covered in programmer's manual

flashjazzcat
By the way - note to those who want me to install VBXE boards - I'll make up SCART or RCA to DIN13 cables for an extra tenner.
