My times for Monday - Wednesday:

Game Boy:

Heiankyo Alien - 51 min.

The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Juggernauts - 83 min.

PlayStation:

1Xtreme - 43 min.

Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge - 150 min.

Project: Horned Owl - 90 min.

Beat Heiankyo Alien -- thoughts here -- and started working on Bart vs. the Juggernauts, a spoof of American Gladiators-style games (apparently a favorite target of Matt Groening's, for whatever reason). I expected it to be terrible, but it's at least passable, though it does the thing I can't stand where you have to replay early sections of the game repeatedly just to get a crack at later sections that use a different gameplay style. Once again, a password is really called for.

On the PlayStation front, my girlfriend and I beat Easy and Normal difficulties on rail shooter Project: Horned Owl, with Hard and Very Hard still remaining. Then I picked Frogger 2 back up for the first time in about a year, and ended up playing through to the end, beating the game on Normal. In between the two, 1Xtreme flattened both of us.

Could you specify which games? If you don't remember how long you played each one, just list them all and I'll divide the hour evenly between them.

Fade To Black, PSX - 5 minutes.

i can't open that goddamn door after i exit my jail cell.

Heh, I had that same problem when I first played FTB -- getting stuck very early in the game. I'm trying to remember how I solved it, but don't off the top of my head. I got a little ways into that game and then dropped it completely; I keep meaning to go back to it.

Here are my times for this past week (July 9th through 15th)...

No times. It's been another week without gaming. I've been to the monthly TI-99 meeting where I showed off my Bigtrak for those who didn't see lt yet, but there was no TI-99 set up this time, so no playing there either. After that, I tried to help one of the TI-99 owners with his personal problems. All in all, a pretty busy week, but without gaming.

My times for Thursday - Sunday:

NES:

Elevator Action - 54 min.

Game Boy:

Qbillion - 100 min.

The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Juggernauts - 138 min.

PlayStation:

Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge - 222 min.

Game Boy Color:

Shamus - 13 min.

Beat Bart vs. the Juggernauts -- thoughts here. After that I resumed work on Qbillion, and solved all the way up to puzzle #104: only 16 left now! What a long, moderately-tedious trip it's been.

Then I worked some more on Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge. I got the full 25 coins on all of the Story Mode levels (thus unlocking all the unlockables), and got the best time on all of the Super Retro mode levels. The only thing left is to beat all the Story Mode levels on Hard, which requires a near-perfect mad dash to the finish line, though thankfully you can ignore the coins. So far I've gotten the first three done, out of 16 or so.

My efforts to beat the first 4 levels of Elevator Action, however, were...less successful.

Sega CD:

Battletech: Gray Death Legion - 30 min.

Hey, interesting. How playable did you find the demo to be?

Its playable and fun for about 15 mins. The grafx are good and the mech models are really detal but have a low color count. Maybe 4 or 5 shapes of grey or brown. The gameplay boils down to one on one mech battles with a new mech different after you destory the last one. The list repeats after 8 or so mechs.

Someday, I'd like to drive into a remote part of Canada, park by the edge of a gravel road, rig up some kind of battery-powered setup, and play Atari via 9-volt while looking out at the ponds, the shrubs, and the moose.

And if I ever do that, I'll be sure to bring a copy of Kaboom.

Battle Slots (PC) - 4 hours...and i'm at work. LOLZ!

Star Guard (PC) - 35 min

FYI, I didn't count these on the main tracker because they're too recent (we don't normally count Flash games or anything that requires Windows XP or later), but I'm really glad you posted that Star Guard time because I looked it up -- what a nifty game! I love finding out about stuff like that. At a glance it looks like it's begging to be ported to the Astrocade, but I don't know the Astrocade hardware well enough to know whether it can support it.

If you want to modify the post, I forgot to put in my time for Berzerk.

July 4th - Atari 2600 - Berzerk - 510 Minutes

I just rolled it into this week's time, for the sake of simplicity. Either way, thanks for posting it!

Its playable and fun for about 15 mins. The grafx are good and the mech models are really detal but have a low color count. Maybe 4 or 5 shapes of grey or brown. Cool, I'll have to give it a shot. I've thought about buying some of Good Deal Games's releases, but I've heard that the production quality is kind of cheap-looking.

Via 9-Volt? Well, that will probably work with today's NiMh batteries... but only for about 40 minutes. And what would you use for a screen?

Besides, isn't that what the Gameboy was made for?

No, it's what Lynx was made for. :P

Well, you can always visit me. I'm about as remote as you're going to get south of 60.

Of course, I opt for my 2600 Hecht portable instead of the 9 volt battery. It's less likely to scare off the moose. :)

My times this week:

Dr. Mario (A8) -- 300 minutes

Pac-Man Arcade (A8) -- 20 minutes

Super Pac-Man (A8 5200 conversion) -- 20 minutes
