Mind Master
Which Imagic game is the company's greatest achievement? I haven't seen them all, but Demon Attack, even though everyone has it, is a very strong candidate.
smf_4ever
For me.. the greatest Imagic is dragonfire.... imho, it has the most repeat gameplay value...
privateers69
I liked the pool table game from them
Godzilla
My favorite has always been Rob Fulops least favorite, Fathom. I love the massive game world. I love the animation of the dolphin and seagull. I love the story. I love the massive size of the game world. I love the graphics themselves, the volcano, the seaweed mazes, the clouds, the mermaid in her cage, etc. I love the exploration based gameplay in a free form environment that also requires action skills too. I like all the sounds too, especially the sound when your morph into a dolphin, and when you free the mermaid. I really enjoyed beating this game. It should be said that atari 2600 & Intellivison Imagic is hands-down my favorite classic era gaming company, EVERY SINGLE GAME they released was at least really good, and mostly awesome. Tempest
Even though it really wasn't theirs I'd say Laser Gates. Quick Step is a close second. Tempest
NE146
I'll never forget the absolutely HUGE impact Demon Attack made on me when it came out and I plugged it in at a friends house... Coming from an age of Hangman, Combat, and other similar 2600 titles, Demon Attack was like a game right out of the arcade and suddenly my simple but fun 2600 turned into a super machine. In retrospect the graphics were really one of the first that set the standard for what was possible on the VCS. Good Stuff. And it still holds up to this day. My favorite? Steerable missiles baby! MegaManFan
I wish I could comment on Fathom or Subterranea, but I don't have copies yet. However, I'm partial to Dragonfire myself; although for straight up and down slapbang fun it would be a tie between Demon Attack and No Escape. SS
I think that Cosmic Arc is a lot of fun to play. I'm also partial to Quick Step, Laser Gates, and (of course) Demon Attack.
theaveng
Cosmic Ark. With the ability to pilot a mothership, a shuttle, and a "transporter" I felt like a Star Trek Commander!
chrisbid
Imagic was a great company, and i cant belive nobody has mentioned atlantis. i also need to plug Microsurgeon, the INTV ports of Demon Attack & Atlantis, and Beauty and the Beast which is by far the best Donkey Kong Clone of the classic era (and beats virtually all Donkey Kong ports for home systems)
Thomas Jentzsch
Cosmic Ark. It was like two games in one.
+cvga
I always liked Demon Attack and Dragonfire the best. I think Fire Fighter is the worst but it has nice graphics.
Tempest
I think Fire Fighter is the worst but it has nice graphics. I hear that alot, but I like Fire Fighter. Funny thing is I don't care for Demon Attack (unlike everyone else). Tempest
Godzilla
I've always liked fire fighter. fun, simple, addictive game. Towering inferno is also quite good (one of u.s. games best, imho,)
MattyXB
As many post before Dragonfire is the best.
Chickybaby
So if I can pick up firefighter for $2.00 is it a good deal? At one of the local stores thats the average price he's charging me for atari games, and that one is put aside for me. Are there any others that i should pick up(if I can find)?I don't have demon attack or dragon fire.
Godzilla
if it's Imagic, and you don't have it, that's a no-brainer.
MegaManFan
I'd say both games are worth $2, although I paid $1 for each.
kyle
Well i only have about 6 imgaic games but my favorite is solar storm!! I havent seen anyone else mention it i wonder why?
Gamergary
Cosmic Ark but Demon Attack is also very good.
Brad2600
Trick Shot is my favorite Imagic game. I also like Fathom. I'm not familiar with it's gameplay, but I had 2 copies of it at one time and I found them at a lawn sale a few years ago. I kept one copy and traded the other. I still want the rest of the Imagic games. If I could find them cheap enough, I'd pick them up. I have the INTV game, Beauty and the Beast by the way. It's an Imagic game but I have no INTV to play it on.
AtariDude
My favorites are Demon Attack (beat that game a long time ago) and Atlantis.
lhfreak
Demon Attack, Subterrania, and Laser Gates are my faves...
MattG/Snyper2099
Subterranea and Wing War are the BEST Imagic games. It's a shame they are the two hardest games to aquire as well (Wing War being a PAL only release). Demon Attack is the one that started it all for me too though. MattG.
