There's the proof of course (at least in the sense that it was stated somewhere), but I think it's a poor choice of words that "Castle turned into Defender of the Crown." I can see the similarities in the portraits, but the gameplay is so completely different. I'd love to know the story of why the adventure-style aspects of Castle were traded for the mostly action-style aspects of the mini-game-driven Defender of the Crown. It seems like it would be nice to have both projects, though it seems whether it's Castle or Defender of the Crown, these projects have been unusually cursed in terms of getting them done.

I'd rather have Castle. I like it's style better. Plus i can get Defender on the Nes for $5

While I agree that I'd much rather have a truly original game like Castle, having Defender of the Crown on a pre-Crash console would be pretty special, plus, many people seem to prefer (from a buying standpoint) conversions of the familiar over wholly original creations for some reason. In any case, they're completely different games, so we SHOULD have both. There's no scenario where I can imagine it needs to be an either/or thing.

i admit i am an arcade nut and i love remakes of them. I admit i am excited about ms pac-man coming out. Loved the dk arcade games. Love the hell out of space patrol and the 4 versions of burgertime i have. Of course i like several arcade games that originally came out on the system. (With donkey kong being the major exception)so you are right about some of us loving remakes. Mine personally is arcade games and (nes games that i played as a kid).
