Andromeda Stardust
Errr.. I get at least 25 feet with my New 3DS, probably more. Lucky you... Mine is craptastic. Edited April 6, 2015 by stardust4ever
Atariboy
Something is wrong somewhere if that's as far away as you can go. It shouldn't even need to be said, but that's now how the system is designed to operate and isn't normal. Why didn't you return it for a replacement, or at least contact Nintendo if you haven't encountered this problem with other devices on your wireless network? Torr
I have seen Pacman themed lottery tickets once in Arkansas. I should have bought one just for LOLz... We had those here in Atlantic Canada too! Well not lottery exactly, but a scratch-off ticket. I almost bought one a couple times, they had their marketing done right to catch my eye, but no, I refused to pay $3 to play a scratch-off version of Pac-Man. The odds of actually winning something is too insignificant and there'd be no High Score to try and improve! The odds of actually winning something is too insignificant and there'd be no High Score to try and improve! I think the Arkansas tickets were like $2. In the states, we often refer to scratch-offs as lottery tickets even though they are instant win and not some multi-million jackpot like the ones you pick the numbers. I was tempted to buy two of the Pac lottery tickets, one to scratch off and one to keep unscathed, but gambling goes against everything I've been taught growing up. I know enough about mathematics and statistics to know that every game is rigged to make you lose money. Maybe not pretend video games and toy slot machines, but no real casino game will pay out more than it takes in over time. I went to the casino once with one dollar, placed it in a "penny slot" mermaid themed game which is really a misnomer since the minimum bid was 25 credits. Anyway after a few rounds randomly pressing buttons on the touch screen, I somehow ended up with $4.10 and decided at that point to cash out for the night. And I think I spent it at the restaurant on a tall one when they made last call. Four dollars for a draft beer is about right. Say nothing of the gourmet hamburger I ate. So they got their money back anyhow. = = = = = = = = Regardless, I can't imagine going to a Casino or Pachinko Parlor and seeing a Mario or Zelda themed gaming device. Even if Nintendo went third party, I still can't imagine them whoring their brand out like that. Atariboy
He's already gained six feet since he first complained, so at this rate, I don't think he as to. Kidding aside, Nintendo is pretty good with this stuff. Listen to Austin, since I'm sure they will have you all fixed up in a few weeks if you just called and took advantage of your warranty. Andromeda Stardust
Did you call Nintendo yet? I will as soon as I get a new one to transfer my data off too. It's been a week now so it should be eligible. I'll get a black one and do the system transfer, then dial up Nintendo and hope for the best with getting the gold one refurbished. It's not that the wireless doesn't work at all, it's just so weak it can't get signal more than a few feet. Possibly could be an antenna/transmitter problem. Asaki
If you send it in to them, they'll fix it, and send it back within a week, with all your data intact.
Serguei2
Unstead releasing a new console each five years, Nintendo should keep their consoles when they're still hot.
Andromeda Stardust
If you send it in to them, they'll fix it, and send it back within a week, with all your data intact. Possibly. But it's also possible they may wipe the system and reinstate my eShop records with all my save data gone. I've procured a new system and am currently performing the transfer. You can join the conversation here if you have a NintendoAge account. I've already derailed this thread enough: http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=8&threadid=145146 Well I splurged on a second Nintendo 3DS xL. Yeah right now I'm 100% positive the gold system was bum. I walked to the far corners of my house with the Black New 3DS xL and my internet connection was rock solid. Didn't venture into the yard though because it's raining. Like my old 3DS xL, I'm picking up signals from the neighbors too, but it's even stronger this time. Two bars from my neighbor's WiFi which is more signal than my old 3DS xL ever got. System Transfer in progress. The original "New" 3DS xL still loses signal when I leave the room with the router. I'm going to return it to Nintendo claiming the WiFi flat out doesn't work.

Video
Uh yeah, save data would be gone, but they get it set up so you can redownload all the stuff you bought.
Atariboy
No, unless there's a hardware issue that prevents their recovery, they will transfer your saves as well.

I sent mine in and nothing was lost. They even make you send in the SD card with it, which came back just as I'd left it. I got a little paranoid and deleted all the penis doodles from Swap Notes before sending it, though ¬_¬ Remember Swap Notes? Man, that used to be good times... Andromeda Stardust
Wow.. Bought a new system... Well, it's your money I guess.I'm going to contact Nintendo to send in the original gold system, then try to recoup my losses by reselling the refurbished one. I just kinda realised the Majora's Mask gold edition is a bit overrated anyhow. But yeah, I'm currently out $217 at the moment.
Atariboy
But yeah, I'm currently out $217 at the moment. lol Why would you have done it this way for? Didn't you notice this issue before ever even transferring anything to your New 3DS? Did you really think that Nintendo wasn't going to retain your content if you had to send it in for repairs or replacement with it still tied to it? Seems an awfully expensve method to not go without your New 3DS for a couple of weeks. Edited April 18, 2015 by Atariboy

Did you really think that Nintendo wasn't going to retain your content if you had to send it in for repairs or replacement with it still tied to it? Seems an awfully expensve method to not go without your New 3DS for a couple of weeks. I had issues connecting from the other room, but I didn't know why. I should have studied the issue more closely before I initiated the transfer, but I didn't. I successfully used the WPS button to sync my New 3DS when I was sitting next to the router. Honestly I thought my 3DS simply didn't like the encryption settings on the router and assumed any issues were fixed once I had a successful connection test using the WPS method which I had never used before. I didn't think anything of it again until after the system transfer was complete when I started using my New 3DS around the house and couldn't get signal anywhere unless I was sitting next to the router. Nintendo will not let you downgrade from a "New" 3DS to an "old" one. It's a one way street once you upgrade. Still kinda butthurt about it. First I'm gonna try Target where I bought the frigging thing. I got the "New" Black one at Target also and have receipts for both. Since the return date has passed on the gold model, I'll tell them it was a birthday present. Technically, stupid me for waiting until Easter Sunday to open the frigging thing to find out if there was a problem with it. If they ask me if I want to exchange it for another New 3DS I'll show them the receipt for the Black model and tell them I already bought a replacement. If all else fails and I can't at least get store credit from Target, I'm gonna call up Nintendo to send the gold "New" 3DS back now that I have a Black one in immaculate working condition. Sell the refurbished gold one and recoup my losses when I get it back and verify the WiFi works. I should be able to get at least $240 for a minty CIB Gold MM "New" 3DS. One way or another, I will get my money back. I almost wish I hadn't camped out at Target on the 13th of February for my golden lemon. Ah, well that explains everything...that date was a Friday I'm afraid that having poor WiFi connection is only going to be the tip of the iceberg...do a little research on how to make your own holy water.
