VectorGamer
This article talks about "Rebuilding Prodigy, one screen at a time." It's almost a year old but an interesting read. http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2014/07/where-online-services-go-when-they-die/374099/
+wongojack
I thought this might be about the Onlive service which is set to go offline tomorrow. I played some of my Onlive games the past 2 weekends to help say goodbye.

+OLD CS1
Why bother.. You could ask that question about anything, really. I mean, seriously, look at our hobbies.

VectorGamer
Why bother.. I think it would be really neat if someone somehow was able to get a hold of the server software, post the client software and allow people to connect over TCP/IP. Make it free of course. +OLD CS1
You know, it did not occur to me that the title of this thread is the actual title of the linked article. I just took it for a general topic, which is why I posted about Q-Link Reloaded. All good stuff.

Opry99er
Actually I found the article pretty fascinating. I was wondering what happened to my USVideoTel account and all the thousands of Compuserve messages I posted to various boards... It is cool to see that there is a shot to bring some of this stuff back into the light... Not that it would be super relevant these days, but then again... I post several times a day on a board called Atariage... So.... My relevancy standards are significantly different than Joe Cool's.
+OLD CS1
My grandfather was on Prodigy. I am trying to locate his old PS/2 to see if the hard drive is still good and if his directory is intact. I found yesterday that one of my programs I wrote 21 years ago and uploaded to Q-Link is in circulation. I found another one in a GEnie resurrection repository. Kind-of neat to see that stuff around again.
82-T/A
My parents had Prodigy for as long as I could remember. Started with a 2400 baud modem, and we kept it well into the mid 90s when we finally gave it away. I still remember my user account: BTWK94A.
