+intellivotion
Which ones do you consider to be the hardest to find Italian manuals? imo the hardest to find are: Melody Blaster River Raid Worm Whomper Donkey Kong (Italian only) Fathom Truckin' last but not least, Checkers probably nobody cares about them, except the 4-5 members of a certain clan... +intvsteve
Oh, that Backgammon box on the right up there… :dreamy eyes: There was a thread about those awhile back that JasonLikesINTV started IIRC. Those, we believe, are from the very earliest production run of the games. They have full-color manuals, usually the special licensed logo on the overlays (NFL, MLB, ABPA, The Electric Company, etc.) and the box has the 'FOR COLOR T.V. VIEWING ONLY' text in black, block letters at a somewhat arbitrary location in the artwork -- usually along the top or bottom edge. We suspect that's before the box's general layout had standardized on putting the FOR COLOR T.V. VIEWING ONLY text in the lower right corner along with the rest of the information about the Master Component. You'll probably also noticed that the cartridge shell does not have the 'INSERT TO THIS LINE' text -- or line -- on it, *and* that it is heavier. All of these small variations over time, trying to track them, speculate about them, and collect them… Well, it can justifiably be considered some form of mental illness, I'm sure. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/249732-the-lorenzogino69-collection/page/3/#findComment-3466430 Share on other sites
BBWW
After taking 100 boards out those early Backgammon and Poker Black-Jack carts those boards were very heavy and had a heat sink or at least a large metal bonnet on them. They weighed twice what the others weighed. So I can consider myself lucky to have this backgammon? In fact, the game cartridge, is much heavier than that in the Italian version, which is on the left. Moreover, there is no line insertion of the cartridge as you say ... lorenzogino69
Cool!! I guess it doesn't happen often to find those early editions still sealed Even these boxes that I have in my collection, bearing the words "cooming soon" though at the bottom right. I have to believe them even important? Or only those that have the black lettering above the title referred to using only colour tv, as the Backgammon and the Armor Battle sealed that I showed before?? +JasonlikesINTV
For it is written, the coming of the prophet shall be prophesied by the sealed early Mattel variants. Additionally, man cannot have descended from monkeys because a man cannot climb a monkey as a horse, as in Horse Racing. However, man may descend from horses, but only a small man and only after the race is finished 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/249732-the-lorenzogino69-collection/page/3/#findComment-3467147 Share on other sites
+intvsteve
The special 'FOR COLOR T.V. VIEWING ONLY' variants that are the most interesting are the ones with the text in the artwork, like your Armor Battle -- wow -- still sealed! and Backgammon. I think, going from memory, the ones we know of are: Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack The Electric Company Math Fun Checkers ABPA Backgammon Armor Battle NFL Football Major League Baseball A few eagle-eyed (and lucky!) collectors have assembled complete sets of these. Not sure how many of those have found a sealed copy though - that is certainly a great item to have! For the website (and my personal collection), I'm still looking for Poker, Math Fun, Checkers, and Backgammon. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/249732-the-lorenzogino69-collection/page/3/#findComment-3467149 Share on other sites
+JasonlikesINTV
The Early Black Text Intellivision Variants were created by Man. They rebelled. They evolved. They look and feel like later variants. Some are programmed to think they are later variants. There are 10 8 different models. And they have a plan. 2 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/249732-the-lorenzogino69-collection/page/3/#findComment-3467155 Share on other sites
