To me it was straight from the Intellivision to the Commodore 64 -- with a very short detour through the marshes of the ECS.

Seriously, I never used an Apple II back in the day. Where I grew up, the Commodore-64 was the common machine for kids, and the IBM PC was the home computer for their patents.

Mine was Atari Pinball game that had Breakout, Basketball and pinball on it .

NO votes for Atari 5200? Y'all crazy. I thought it was awesome.

 

My favorite old computer is the Commodore Amiga 1000. Very advanced for it's time.

 

I loved the Mattel baseball and football 2 hand helds

 

Only Inty device I had was Intellivoice

Not sure about the controllers but the Atari 5200 is a great machine, in some ways superior to the Atari 7800. Its Defender and Missile Command are very good. Coleco strategically didn't make Donkey Kong for it giving the Colecvision an edge over its competitor. Based on Atari 800 technology, had it been released a couple of years earlier it could have really hurt Intellivision. Its library is mostly arcade remakes however so today you can just play the real thing instead. It does have a great version of Choplifter with analog control [and its got Star Raiders].

Never had another pre-1985 system. I played Intellivision from 1980-1986 when we got the original Nintendo. Even then we had both systems hooked up to the tv depending on what games my dad, brother and I felt like playing for another year before dad gave the Intellivision to some neighbor kids whose father had skipped out on them. At the time we didn't care as NES had taken over for us. But looking back, I'd kill to have the actual console I played on as a kid or even just one game from our original collection.
