[d2f]Iggy*SJB
I'm not sure if mine is the heavy or not....has the hard angle front plastic. Here's the info: Manufactured for Atari, Inc. by TRW Electronic Components Company in Taiwan. Model No. CX-2600. FCC Type Approval No TV-363 SN: 81417989 I just spotted something while looking at that sticker...... Above it(from this angle), is "191" stamped in the plastic under the controllers/power adapter plugs. It's on the bottom of the case, on that little lip around the base. It does have the channel select, and open holes for speakers(which I thought were vent holes).
Hiddenevil
Hey i'm new here, but thought i'd join in. My heavy sixer was made in Hong kong and SN is: 548168092

Sorry but it sounds like you have a light sixer. Hey i'm new here, but thought i'd join in. Although there are "Frankenstien" sixers, that have combinations of parts and manufaturing locations. See the bottom of the list to see some examples of these. +Stephen
Finally dug my heavy sixer out from the mess that is my workbench. Serial # is 71331L. It doesn't have a channel selector switch. It's in pretty good consition (just needs a good scrubbing - I found it at an automotive swap meet a few years back). I'd like to repaint the orange trim, but other than hat, it doesn't have any other blemishes. Oh - I wouldn't mind getting new chrome switches for it. Most Heavies have 5 numbers and a letter or 6 numbers. Are you sure that it is a Heavy? Does the sticker say made in Sunnyvale or made in Taiwan? Wester
There are two labels? I'm not sure I understand, but the number you posted now looks like a good one. Any chance you could send me a pic of what you mean?

Nemesis
998046 The Main label is there but there was another small thin Serial number over the top of the original serial .I suspect it was refurbished or a factory faulty system that was reshipped .I have an Atari 1200XL and a Lynx that has an extra serial over the top of the label too. Have you opened it up to see if it has the thick aluminum RF shielding?

Wester
Both added to the list, thanks for your contribution. If you ever get a chance could you look for a date stamp on the circuit board like the one on wgungfu's Atari. Here's the pic he took of his, it was under the RF shielding. Thanks, Wes 943496

Tempest
Just found my Heavy Sixer. SN: 39306 I don't see a channel select switch (unless it's really well hidden). Tempest
dpg
I am very pleased to see there are others with this passion for old Atari systems. Anyway I have a few Ataris and one heavy sixer........ It appears mine is a Taiwan heavy sixer and has a build date of July 8/1978 on a tag taped to the shielding inside. It still works great and has excellent graffics. I also have a light sixer with heavy internals that I cannot bring back to life. It will flash the opening of a game but thats it. Tempest 999960 Nice, our first 5 digit Serial number, any chance you could take a look at the board? If any were to have a date it should be this one.
