Ramses Posted August 5, 2019 Share Posted August 5, 2019 I didn't realize the HSC started up so soon. I'll probably sit this one out for the most part. Millipede is the one game I have a cabinet of though so I felt the need to join in this week. Unfortunately my dip settings are slightly different than what's listed here and I don't want to reset my scores so I had to go with MAME and my rarely used U-trak. I can usually break 100,000 but I had a hard time adjusting to using a different trackball. It also seems like the reinforcement heads come much quicker in the early game than it does on my machine. Zoyous Posted August 10, 2019 Share Posted August 10, 2019 I'm not good at either of these games! Millipede: 42043. It was about all I could do to crack the bottom of the default high scores. I would say compared to Centipede, Centipede is the better game. This game starts to feel a little unfair with everything it's throwing at you. It's quite effective at getting you to look at one area of the screen while another area of the screen is sending some form of high speed death at you. Ladybug: 18610. This is really the first time I've played this game and I must say... even though I suck at it... it's absolutely genius! In short order I could see that there's a lot of depth to the gameplay and occasionally I was able to use the doors effectively and draw enemies to their doom. The color-changing bonus items add a good element of risk/reward and something about them reminds me of something you'd see in an electromechanical game.
