Forrest
Thanks for the alert about this version being available on eBay - it’s $15 less than the Brewing Academy version. Can the DIY version be plugged into the back pass of a 1050 Drive and both devices function correctly? Mathy
Hello Jfcatari 18 hours ago, Jfcatari said: I did pick up a few JAE's from Best Electronics and put them under the knife. I do have the 3d printed SIO plugs and pins, but it seemed like the sacrifice was worth my time. Sikor(soft) sells injection moulded SIO connectors. (There not mentioned on his site IIRC) Sincerely Mathy

I have a feeling that the 1050 would have to be switched to a different drive number for it all to work.
_The Doctor__
This version does NOT have the same memory as the Brewing Academy versions. It also does NOT pass SIO through.
Forrest
Yes, I’m aware there is no SIO pass thru on this Fujinet. I just wanted to know if the Fujinet was plugged into the end of the SIO would it function? Does Fujinet need to drive 1, and the 1050 drive 2? mozzwald
Fujinet will work anywhere in the chain
_The Doctor__
If it dead ends and does not have a jack or SIO plug to continue the chain, it must go in the last device in the chain... remember this is the half memory dev version with a half sio cord and no other connection. Yep, IDs have to be unique. Otherwise it would be like naming your children all the same and then wondering why none of them shows up when you call its name for help. 7 hours ago, Forrest said: Does Fujinet need to drive 1, and the 1050 drive 2? Nope; switch the device you wish to boot from to D1.
Jfcatari
Question around Devkit Fujinet and a Atari 1050? I fully tested the following on an Atari 130XE with an original Atari 1050: The Fujinet defaults to D1 Set the 1050 to D2 (back switches) Boot with Fujinet at the end of the chain, SIO setup: XE -> 1050 -> Fujinet The fujinet first booted to it's config setup and I set the slots as follows: D1 to use Dos 2.0s, D2 (empty) D1 from the Fujinet was set to load a Dos 2.0s disk, from the SD card D2 from the 1050 had a floppy with DOS installed After rebooting from the fujinet and holding the OPTION key down, DOS booted from the D1 (Fujinet) In DOS, I was able to take directories of D1 (fujinet) and D2 (1050) Long story short, it does work with a 1050 attached after switching the drive number on the back of the 1050.

Forrest
Thanks for the update on the testing with the 1050 drive. The reduced memory of the DIY hardware doesn’t bother me. I heard Thom speak at VCF East two weeks ago and asked him about the different versions of Fujinet, and he said don’t worry about it - the group is committed to supporting version 1.0 and greater on the Atari. cbelcher
Finally made up my own case for one of the through hole units - I wanted it to look somewhere between the styling of the 800 and the XLs. Designed a faceplate in Tinkercad to fit the OKW case, and used an external antenna.
