PlusROM High Score Club

Sega "Tac-Scan" has been modified for the PlusROM High Score Club. The game uses the Paddles on the right joystick port. Tac-Scan originally came with a 'Performance Tracking' score card. On the back of said score card is an offer from Sega for a free jacket patch if the player achieves a high score (a Awesome patch for a score above 200,000 and a Sega-Mundo patch for scores above 300,000). However, it seems that these patches never appeared anywhere. If anyone knows more about this, or knows where these patches can be found, then I can still setup these patches in the HSC.

The source code with the PlusROM functions for the HSC backend added can be found at the PlusROM example/hacks github repository here:

https://github.com/Al-Nafuur/PlusROM-Hacks/tree/main/High Score Club hacks/Tac-Scan HSC

As always, PlusCart user can find the PAL60 and NTSC versions in the PlusStore directory "Public ROMs\PlusROMs\High Score Club"

The NTSC version can be played online in javatari.js. The ROM-file can also be played with Gopher2600, or the newest version of Stella.

This is an excellent addition. Thank you.

I can't get Asteroids HSC PAL.Bin to work on my setup without it crashing as soon as it's started.

Does anyone know if there are any special settings it needs to be able to work with OSSC?

I use 2600RGB with OSSC.

Thanks

I just tested on my 4switch PAL system with CRT and it worked. Does it "crash" back to the PlusCart menu on your system? If you get the status message "Emulation Exited" you might try to disable the exit function in the "Setup" menu.

I get the copyright screen then the game doesn't start properly. There's a few second wait, then a blank screen, then a few seconds of the game that doesn't respond to controller, then blank screen etc. No worries just wondered if anyone else had had similar and found a work around. Cheers.

Does the normal PAL Asteroids version works on your system?
