Is this why Tommy was holding his two shits? He had his butt plugged up with his thumbs?

Heck he doesn't even need his thumbs to hit the pedal to get the VGL guitar music to play.

Another public service announcement/reminder for IE's TM attorney:

Your statement of use or -final- extension to show use in commerce for Jungle Hunt and Bump 'N' Run trademark filings is coming due soon.

You might wish to avoid uspto filing yet more abandonment notices on these TMs which would require you taking more of your time and money filing for TM revival yet again.

You act as though they have nothing better to do at IE, than watch this thread? 😜

I remember a certain former CEO who acted like watching a certain thread on this forum as the most important thing in the world, while pretending to not think so.

Well they did have employees and such following people around online gathering information on them.

You know, because their console idea was so flimsy that nobodies with opinions on forums that their "target demographic" don't frequent, could tank it!

I mean that sounds so stupid to say out loud. Pat and Ian aren't even big enough to tank a project. If they say they, or anyone, think that, then by that logic Amico should have been a a bigger success. SmashJT and RTUsa together have much huger followings. So with them having been fans of the console it should have sold even more right? 🤪

But the reality is you still have idiots posting in the FB hugbox who still think the Switch hasn't surpassed the Wii. 🙄

Some of the posts being made by one or two people in the Facebook group are so divorced from reality it's complete insanity.

I'm not a member on there anymore, but I can certainly guess who they may be. We've had discussions about that type of person (and a few specifics) in this thread and on Reddit several times. My conclusion has always been it's either truly masterful trolling or some type of neurodivergent issue or issues. I really can't think of any other reasoning because there's simply nothing a remotely rational person can take away as a positive from any of this, and there hasn't been for some time, no matter how positive of a spirit you are.

They kick you out for being reasonable? My nickname for one of them is Wild Bill, because most of what he says is wildly fantasy land made up. I think blaming neurodivergency isn't fair as that doesn't mean stupid. These individuals, if not trolls, are just stupid. And I mean willfully ignorant thar my morning Amico probably has a higher IQ than they choose to have.

That or they have a deep seeded need to be a part of something even at the expense of their dignity and critical thinking. It quite frankly is a cult. Cults exist because people are willingly ready to join them to feel like they belong to something.

Even the ones in the hugbox who show a small sign of recognizing things aren't good, exibit fear that them having the tiniest non-happy post will cause issues, or "not be allowed", or need some qualification of "not trolling" or example of fidelity of "supporter from the beginning" in expressing those things.

Will Bill may be the guy I was referring to earlier, the guy that claimed that his friends would never want to play Mario Party because it looks childish, but would be totally OK for Shark, Shark for some reason. So to me he's just one of these Intellivision fundamentalists that never got over the fact the NES made most people forget about the OG Intellivision, and that hope the Amico will be the new Wii - while the Switch has already surpassed it. So if it's a cult, it's a cult based on hatred instead of a love for some god, which might be even worse...

Totally Wild Bill. Here's a response to an insane Wild Bill comment.

Many just have no grasp of reality. I agree that a huge chunk of them seem to hate Nintendo. You see stuff like this in regards to other consoles as well. It's like they are stunted. I love playing my old games, but I'm not afraid to play all types of games to see what's out there.

That reminds me. I need to try out my Baby PacMan 7800 game today. It's totally a miracle the NES outsold the 7800.....

The big problem for Tommy with Pat and Ian was that they made it easy to find out about all the issues, instead of just finding toxic positity when searching for Amico on youtube or google.

The Intellivision was forgotten long before the NES showed up. There was a pretty good Sega-Nintendo rivalry, so it's not surprising that some people don't care for Nintendo graphics/audio style.

Just stop with that. You may not be a Nintendo hater but most of the Amico shills were and still are - including Tommy (who always admitted being a PlayStation fanboy). It's not like they tried to hide it or anything.

I'm a former SEGA fan, and I never hated Nintendo that much, even back in the days. Now I know some hardcore SEGA fans that still dislike Nintendo (one of them had an Intellivision funnily enough) but, believe me, the harshest Nintendo haters I know are Amiga fans (in Europe) and Atari/Coleco/Intellivision fans (in the US). And I don't see how "The Intellivision was forgotten long before the NES showed up" changes anything; it makes it worse, actually.

Again, I'm not disputing that there are people that dislike Nintendo, it just seems odd to read the reason being it replaced the Intellivision. If people don't like Nintendo graphics and audio style it's probably because they don't like Nintendo graphics and audio style and would have been drawn to Sega or later Playstation. In the 1990s Tallarico was involved in the development of games that competed with Nintendo. If there is a market of anti-Nintendo people it has little to do with the Intellivision.

The low resolution Intellivision graphics looked dated by 1983, and Intellivision fans were disappointed Mattel didn't come out with the replacement system they talked about. In 1983 you had the higher resolution Colecovision and Commodore 64, then the Amiga before the NES showed up. I had an Intellivision in the early 80s and was pleased to see the NES thumbpad finally replace handheld joysticks.

Actually flooding the zone was a worse tactic for them. By attacking Pat and Ian they made their situation worse. The YT Amicolytes had next to nill following. So as soon as CUPodcast would do a video that included it, it would be at the top of the list. The general search feature on YouTube is for top suggestions not most recent.

By attacking anyone with a following, they Streisand the Amico. Anyone with an IQ they didn't throw into the abyss to join a cult could see through all the talking points Tommy told them to make, even if lies.

If Tommy would have just shut up and not had his cult attack everyone it wouldn't have been very known. Intellivision isn't well known and for the most part "no one" cares about that brand.

Yeah if it was a forgotten brand then them pushing their retro titles was an even worse move. Considering it is a retro console that did not do anything to show it was for casuals or whatever.

I mean I always felt the brag about 20% of the industry is like bragging about a race you lost but came in second because there were only two people. I mean even from Ataris perspective they were probably lucky they were basically the firsts to do what they did.

It was pretty obvious that Nintendo is hated by a chunk of retroheads that feel like Nintendo somehow destroyed their childhood companies, and not their business practices or lack of adapting to the industry. It is why the "Switch is bad" drum was hit so hard. Nintendo in recent history has always tried to cater to a more casual and family crowd. It is why many call it a kiddie console.

Only the biggest of idiots couldn't see that Switch was catering to that crowd. When this was announced I didn't own a Switch and wanted to know how Amico was better. That was an issue for Tommy and everyone who hated Nintendo. The best they could come up with is PORN!!!1!!

Well I didn't even have a Switch and knew that was dumb and a non-issue. Tommy's claims of playing multiplayer on Switch costing $2500 or whatever dumb numbers he said was dumb too. You don't need a Switch for each person. Which even I knew that without owning one.

Now that I own a Switch those claims seem even more dumb. I don't even have parental controls set up on the Switch and the wife and kid have yet to see any PORN!!1!!1! BUT I'm also not a dumbass stuck in the past who hates Nintendo because my brain can't comprehend reality.

Truth is Amico had, did, and does nothing better than anything currently in the market. That's why the mantra was SWITCH IS EVIL!!!! Wii WAS THE BEST!!!! Tommy couldn't even tell you beyond "don't underestimate my hack job abilities"

Well when idiots like Wild Bill continue to talk about the Wii it really shows how dumb and far gone they are. The Switch has surpassed the Wii.

While I don't think old game companies should be forgotten. I do believe in regards to things like Intellivision, there can be a case made that sometimes things should just be left in the past. It should have been left to the homebrewers and maybe releasing an old collection once in awhile.

Intellivision moving forward will be remembered best as a scam company that scammed people over a vaporware console based around an old non-industry leading old console.

Yes, it was a self-own. The biggest one was that Tommy attacked them at all. If he would have ignored them, they might never have covered the Amico again, or at least not until things started visibly going south.

What makes it worse is that their initial coverage isn't even what I would call bad. It isn't up to the customer to blindly accept the word of the salesman. It was on Tommy to prove it had a spot in the market. Words are cheap and that is all Intellivision had. They can't even sell 10,000 games. Yet they were going to sell consoles to 3.2 billion?

That's just rich. 🤣

Exactly, they were just mildly skeptical and actually gave Tommy way more benefit of the doubt than he deserved, even gave INTV extra credit because he was at the helm. Might have been their worst take during the whole Amico saga!

Yep.  You'd know this if you had the focus group data, dang it!

I've come to the belief that their data was bad Ask Jeeves searches. The focus data was most likely of them in the office. Which was just more confirmation bias.

Everyone in the office liked this. This is an office favorite. This one rated highest....in the office. The users at AA liked this footage best! My wife...er casual gamers don't like Overcooked.

The rest of it was probably something along the lines of. Do you want your kids to play on consoles with porn and violence? No. Great! We won't do that! Very little of their stuff was done, so most of anything past anecdotal stage was most likely very shallow.

NO ONE CARES!!  Good lord just STOP already!!  You are talking about things as if anyone gives a damn what you are saying!!  Seriously dude, you literally aren't contributing anything to this.  You are making me feel sorry for you, and that is a large feat as anyone who truly knows me could attest to!!!
