Like the others have already said - better, more unique sound effects for the combat and some background animations, if possible. Like that field of grass - you can take 2-3 frames and have it blowing in the wind.

 

Maybe even have small dirt clouds kick up from the player and enemies, as they fight on the dirt road. Its small details like these that really make the beat ‘em up and add life to the environments.

Would it be possible to refine the light maps so that when for example, light is coming through a window, the angle changes as the level scrolls?  It looks quite odd (see latest video, the transition from 3:44 to 3:49).

This game is looking really good. It's all really coming together.

 

I'd love for the fire attack actually make the enemy catch fire.

 

One thing that does bother me is that the knight should never drop his sword the way the character does when he's walking. The enemies are on screen, that weapon should be ready and protecting him.
