+chriswhit
I was curious if any of the vcs games are compatible to run on an 2600 sd cart on real hardware? I haven’t bought one as I didn’t like the lack of cartridge slot. Looking at things like yars reloaded and so on.

Unfortunately no, the Atari VCS 800 is basically a modern mini Ryzen gaming PC and the 2600 is a very old 8 bit system lol its just not going to happen for obvious obvious reasons. Alien Abduction 2600 from the Atari VCS 800 game library works fine on the 2600 but that's about it the recharge games its not going to happen. There is a cart reader in coming out at some point for the Atari VCS 800 so you may not want to rule the VCS out yet for physical media, it'll be able to run 2600 carts. zzip
Some of the games sold on VCS are native 2600 games and 7800 games and could run on real hardware, but most of these games are available outside of the VCS too.
+chriswhit
Thanks everyone. I wasn’t sure where I don’t have good enough internet to watch game trailers. I thought recharged meant digital download of the existing games. I missed yars return and was hoping it was the same as yars recharged
