It looks like Atari releasing a new run of Fatal Run

Didn't order one mostly because I prefer the 7800 version but I like that they're offering it. This is what Atari should be offering, games that are difficult/expensive/impossible to come by in original form. They shouldn't be re-releasing common games.

Atari might offer a release of 7800 version of Fatal Run. I hope they offer a standard edition that’s won’t kill your wallet.

Does Atari still own Klax? I wonder if that could get a release, since it was only ever PAL before, like Fatal Run.

They're on the right track releasing this one. Anyone know how large the run was? 1000? 500? Seemed to sell out pretty quick...

I get them not wanting to be stuck with a bunch of unsold inventory, but it would be nice if the window was a tad bigger for these things.

I've actually seem surprisingly little of the Atari XP games show up on the secondary market. I've been trying to collect every Atari-produced 2600 cartridge. I didn't jump on the pre-orders for the first three (Aquaventure, Saboteur and Yars Return). It took forever for me to track down the non-'Limited Edition' ones on eBay (I wanted normal looking carts). I was sort of surprised that they went away and never came back. I've learned and now just preorder whatever comes out if it's game that wasn't released otherwise. Seems strange that all of these have been so limited.

 

And looking at their product page I just now have noticed that I missed the Save Mary limited edition. Lame!

I kind of wish Atari would announce these games at here in forums. Not everyone spends every waking moment at Atari.com to see any new releases. I knew of the new Fatal Run release via YouTube.

Yeah 500 seems a little light...

Its probably tough to guess how many/fast its going to sell though if you're not super active in the collecting scene. I'm guessing "Outlaw" took a little longer?

I was going to buy one... but I'm trying to get out of the habit of "collecting" things. I have 200 Atari carts in a bin, no dupes... and I'm looking forward to playing those this weekend. But I just don't need the box and all that stuff. Ideally, for some of these newer / advanced ones... if they really have play-ability, then I'd like to buy them for the new VCS.
