Wraiths, wizards, and moldering skeletons surround you. Even now, a grim reaper stalks you. The exits take you -- where? Only deeper into the maze. Find weapons in the darkness and fend off your elusive enemies. Claim the treasure and fight your way even deeper into the caverns. Your strength will outlast the weaker ghouls. But are you a match for the strongest? 3 difficulty levels thou best to set it to hardest for a challenge. A good 'Gauntlet' style game for the 2600. Hoping Atari re-release the 7800 version. That game is 'top' of my wish list... One of my most mint looking games is this 2600 version. Well not exactly your copy but, i have my own. Its pretty fun but i tend to not get too far in it, maybe sometime i'll explore the chambers more

shane857
Played River Raid for an hour earlier... With difficulty switches in the a position, missiles streak straight ahead. With switches in the b position, you can control the direction of your missiles after they have been fired by "steering" them with your Joystick Controller. Personally I prefer switches in A position Didn't quite get enough points to become an official 'River Raider' 15,000 or more Great shooter for the 2600.

Chopper Command, Starmaster, Pitfall and River Raid all came out.

It won't take long for you to reach the 15k necessary for the patch. I also have River Raid II and a custom made patch. Activision never made a patch for RRII. I think its a pretty good game, but you'll need to RTFM inorder to land your aircraft on the carrier. Having said that, its quite the departure from River Raid, so I understand how it may not appeal to some. Btw, I prefer River Raid with difficulty swithes to set to "A" as well. 4

bigfriendly
Oh come on guys! On 2600 shooters you have to go with the guided missiles. I love the guided cannon fire on both River Raid and Demon Attack. Whenever I see a late release like River Raid II which came out in 1988 I'm always puzzled by that. In 1988 the NES was in command of the home console market and the 2600 was such an afterthought at that point. There are other 2600 games that came out that late and I always wonder did they actually sell that many of them? In 1988 Atari stuff was being peddled at yard sales for next to nothing. Just that one game though, otherwise, for me, guided is awful.
MrChickenz
HAVE YOU PLAYED ATARI 2600+ TODAY? I HAVE! WAKA WAKA WAKA TWO FOR TUESDAY! PAC-MAN and MS. PAC-MAN That’s the games for me today. This version of Pac-Man is not bad at all! It’s not the Arcade version, still looks and plays great for a 2600 game. Ms. Pac-Man as well. Pac-Man for the 2600 is one of those games that I had but never really played because it wasn’t like the arcade version. But if you look at it for what it is, a 2600 game it’s damn good! I like playing Game 4,5 or 6. Today I’ll be using my Competition Pro Joystick which I just recently picked up at my local game store.
