Player One Posted March 3 Share Posted March 3 Here’s my sad story about Pitfall. Or maybe it’s more of a Tropical Trouble story. I “traded” my copy of Tropical Trouble with a “friend” for Pitfall. I thought it was understood to be a temporary arrangement. Tropical Trouble was my most recent game at the time and I loved it. I definitely enjoyed Pitfall and it got quite a bit of play. I asked my friend if he liked Tropical Trouble, he said he didn’t care for it. I couldn’t believe it! I thought it was an awesome game. I finally asked for my Tropical Trouble back. I don’t remember what he said but he never gave it back. I kept Pitfall and continued to play it. Finally I picked up a loose cart of Tropical Trouble at a thrift shop. I still had my box, manual and overlays from childhood. They know each and every screen where you can go for it and make it and then the screens where you can't do that. I had only lost one man and had had about 3 minutes left on the clock with 67,000 (I think) points when my Intellivision died. I say purposely because once I accidentally fell down a hole and lost 100 pts. I just went left as fast as I could in both games I played. I DID NOT JUMP OVER ONE SINGLE SCORPION!!!! 😛 This has me wondering, if this game was 20+ minutes long could you pick up all the loot by just going left?
