Swami
This puzzles me. $193 for a 4-switch 2600 untested with box. Is a nice box worth $140? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-Video-Computer-System-Model-CX-2600A-W-Original-Box-Untested-Vintage/142468599421?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/47434-wanted-interesting-auctions/page/68/#findComment-3829528 Share on other sites
+stupus
its not even the chess piece box. Guess its all in fairly good shape and has the ac and paddle boxes. But I don't see anything special about it unless I missed something. So yeah, seems like people got a bit bid crazy.... But I don't see anything special about it unless I missed something. So yeah, seems like people got a bit bid crazy.... I'm contemplating getting a nice early model 2600 box for display, but I probably have to get a console with it, and it would probably be smart to do that as the matched set would retain its value better...although ... It is unlikely I would ever sell it. I already have a 6switch 4switch and Sears model I and II, so don't really want another random 2600 console until I sell one of these I have. Not sure it is worth the trouble and paying way over $100 for the set to have a nice box that just sits there, though. Still seems slightly high to me, but you know collectors! 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/47434-wanted-interesting-auctions/page/68/#findComment-3829700 Share on other sites
+stupus
ah, yeah that's possible. I guess those were generally in the promotional boxes? Seems 2 guys really bid it out at the end...maybe it just turned into a pissing contest of sorts. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/47434-wanted-interesting-auctions/page/68/#findComment-3829701 Share on other sites

So the repaired four switchers with the 6/4 bottom are collectors items b/c the bottom was made in Sunnyvale? Any Atari that was "Made In The USA" has more value versus it's Asian made equivalents. A repair of an Asian 4-switch model. Not clear on where the guts come from. Atari_Bill
Wow, magazines now going for almost $300? SMH. HoshiChiri
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Saturn-HDMI-Cable-Box-Wow-And-Rare/253110686194 Wow... if you're gonna try and pawn a composite -> HDMI converter off as a specialty device, at least print a good label for it! Also amusing to me- I recognize that grey box with the 720/1080 identification in it. This is MY converter (this one:https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I482KZI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). So, I guess props for not using a super-cheap one? Swami
I wonder who at Atari dreamt this up?
