Rom Hunter
One step closer to the existence of Go Go Home Monster: Recently, Tom Blair found this War 2000 cartridge: http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?T...amp;NUM_IMAGE=3 Similar looking black cartridge versions from Home Vision have been found earlier. These two still show traces of the sticker: http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?T...amp;NUM_IMAGE=2 http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?T...amp;NUM_IMAGE=0 And this white, label-less Home Vision cart carries a similar looking sticker: http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?T...amp;NUM_IMAGE=3 As you can see, http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?T...amp;NUM_IMAGE=3 the War 2000 cart carries a sticker with the (misspelled) title and model number of the ITT Family Games version Meteor Defense on it. Here's Meteor Defense from ITT Family Games (notice the identical model number): http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?T...amp;NUM_IMAGE=0 The word "Doppelpack" on the War 2000 sticker points towards the double-pack release of ITT Family Games' Meteor Defense / Alien's Return: http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?T...amp;NUM_IMAGE=3 http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?T...amp;NUM_IMAGE=3 Now, the Home Vision version of Alien's Return from ITT Family Games is called: Go Go Home Monster: http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.php?...ERSION_ID=15661 So there's a fair chance that somewhere out there, there's a black Home Vision cartridge, carrying this label: With a white sticker on it that reads: Alien's Return Kat.No. 554 333 91 Doppelpack Well, now you all know where to look for on German E-bay, eh? Will do so But one more point, let's see (ITT vs. HomeVision): 1) Aliens Return aka Go go home Monster (No. 3) -> Not found yet 2) Cosmic Town aka Base Attack (No. 13) -> only white cart 3) Fire Birds aka Sky Alien (No. 12) -> white cart and black cart with black background 4) Hell Driver aka Racing Car (No. 24) -> white cart and black cart with white background 5) Laser Base aka World End (No. 9) -> only black cart with black background 6) Meteor Defense aka War 2000 (No. 2) -> white cart and black cart with black background 7) Mountain Man aka Ski Hunt (No. 6) -> white cart and black cart with white background 8 ) Peter Penguin aka Frisco (No. 4) -> white cart and black cart with white background So we have found three Homevision titles up to now that came in a black cart with original homevision label (black background): War 2000, World End and Sky Alien. Two of those show at least remainings of the white "Doppelpack"-sticker: War 2000 and World End. If you are correct in assuming that they are intermediates for ITT double-packs, and if War 2000 was to be combined with Go Go Home Monster, which game came together with World End? Was it Sky Alien (which shows up quite frequently in contrast to World End)? Or is it the other missing black case HomeVision title with a corresponding ITT Title: Base Attack? Since ITT Family Games only released one Doppelpack (Meteor Defense / Alien's Return - the only two titles from ITT that carry the same model number), I don't think World End carried a sticker with the word Doppelpack on it. Just: Laser Base 554 333 67 or something like that. And perhaps this black Sky Alien: http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?T...amp;NUM_IMAGE=3 also exists with a sticker that reads: Fire Birds 554 333 83 Edited October 12, 2008 by Rom Hunter
Rom Hunter
Stab, You pointed out something interesting indeed. All the 'second edition' Home Vision carts have a ITT Family Games counterpart. The only ITT Family Games title left that doesn't have a 'second edition' Home Vision counterpart yet, is Laser Base (AKA Base Attack from Home Vision) It could very well be that there's a black cartridge version of Home Vision's Base Attack out there. So they were ONLY released as a double pack by ITT and not as single games! Did not recognize this up to now. But still, yes, I will watch out for a black case Base Attack from now on ... pinball22
Gotta love that Topy label. Rom Hunter
Congratulations, Marco. Some nice front and back scans of these blisterpacks would be great indeed. I've seen more rares appear in that time than ever before!

Rom Hunter
I have the feeling that these blisterpacks were sold empty. There's no sign of Home Vision on the package and both look exactly the same. It looks like the plastics can be slided off the cardboard. Put in any card you want and... voila. The plastics leave quite some room for longer cards too. But this is just my guess. Perhaps Marco can tell us more about it. Rom Hunter
Doesn't make sense, why would they sell an empty blister pack ??I have no idea. To put loose carts in? If the plastics are glued, there's no question about the Home Vision carts belonging there. If the plastics can be slided off, it could be just a company (Connection) producing generic blisterpacks (for sellers?) to sell loose VCS carts in. I don't know, it's a complete riddle to me. I've never seen these blisterpacks before and there seems to be no visible link with Home Vision. Except for the fact that they both contain Home Vision carts... Ok, it's time for my straight jacket. See ya. Edited January 30, 2009 by Rom Hunter
iwan-iwanowitsch-goratschin
I don't know, it's a complete riddle to me. I think those blisterpacks explain why there are so many loose Home Vision carts out there without boxes! -----> I believe that they were sold regular in those blisterpacks! I can´t imagine that these games were sold loose back in the days!
pangasinan
Marco, you need to send your new blister packs to Australia so they can be with there Australian cousins.
Marco
Bah, H.E.S. shite! I've always wondered why so few Homevision boxes survived. I mean, throwing out a cardboard box that got ripped when you first opened it, makes sense. But these lovely plastic boxes should have survived in larger quantities. People didn't throw out VHS boxes either... Cheers, Marco
