Marco
I think it's time to dust off the "Bit Corp is the mother of all pirate companies" theory again Cheers, Marco
Rom Hunter
Wow! I think you dug up some video game history, Thomas. Did you check Condor Attack from Ultravision as well?
Rom Hunter
Come to think of it: There is a Kung Fu (AKA Karate) on a dark green 4 Game in One from... Bit Corp.
Thomas Jentzsch
Did you check Condor Attack from Ultravision as well? I only have the Condor Attack from CCE ROM. No obvious traces inside.

Rom Hunter
I hope this is not one of your "Turbo Proto" jokes, Thomas. There are some more Condor Attack ROMs, but we're entering PAL territory here: The Year 1999 (Rainbow Vision - Suntek) Condor Attack (Hi-Score) Galactic (Funvision) Galactic (Goliath - Hot Shot)
Thomas Jentzsch
After some further investigation, it looks like they used a Pac-Man ROM for Condor Attack. CloneSpy says, about 30% of both ROMs are identical. So, either they reburned Condor Attack over Pac-Man, using only ~70% of the space or they hacked Pac-Man into Condor Attack (unlikely). Rom Hunter
Ok, let's get back to the topic. Does anybody have some screenshots of these Home Vision titles? Gogo Home Monster (Challenge?) Magic Carpet (?) Magic Puzzle (Dice Puzzle?) Racing Car (Motocross? - Grand Prix?) War 2000 (?) World Trap (?) X'Mission (?) Does anybody know a missing game number on the Home Vision list on page 1 of this topic? Some other questions: Where does the name Brick Kick come from? Frisco (Home Vision - R.J.P.G.) Peter Penguin (ITT Family Games - R.J.P.G.) Brick Kick (? - R.J.P.G.) What does Seal to Whales (Datatech - Home Vision) look like?
YOK-dfa
Frisco (Home Vision - R.J.P.G.) Peter Penguin (ITT Family Games - R.J.P.G.) Brick Kick (? - R.J.P.G.) Where does this R.J.P.G. stand for? I have one of those clone Atari 2600 with many games on it and i noticed that one of the games also said R.J.P.G. at the bottom. If i remember right it was some kind of skiing game... On a side note, that clone is pretty interesting, it has many games i didn't immediately recognise and features copies of a lot different manufacturers. It even has a pirated Missile Control from Videogems. I might start a 'please help me identify this game' thread with some pictures of the games in this console soon
YOK-dfa
Ah, found the picture. Here it is:
Rom Hunter
That's Ski Hunt (Home Vision), also known as Mountain Man (ITT), also known as Winterjagd (Quelle). I don't think R.J.P.G. is a company. R.J.P.G. is connected with Home Vision somehow. I don't know where the initials stand for. Traffic (Home Vision), aka Hell Driver (ITT) has them as well. Thomas Jentzsch
Everything makes sense again. Aaargh, them pirates! Yup, and there are (different) traces of unused code fragments from different other games inside all Condor variations.
Rom Hunter
Interesting. Do you know from which game the unused code fragments in The Year 1999 are?
ianoid
I take Bitcorp pretty seriously ever since I picked up a Bit 90 Computer/Colecovision compatible. I realize that to manufacture an actual computer, the company must have take themselves seriously. I would guess that most of these roms are on similar chips and/or boards. Anyone care to open up their carts and compare boards and chips? I think that inspecting ROMs and screenshots alone will limit us in determining the provenance of these games. Would I open up my carts? Not if I have to sacrifice the labels- but then I'm sure we can find some that have worn labels to open up. Rick Weis
X'Mission (?) i'll add pictures of this one this weekend. Rick
Rom Hunter
Great, Rick! The more info we have, the better. Thanks! Ianoid, I agree with you, but I think it's a lot to ask from a collector to screw open (up?) his/her cartridges.
Thomas Jentzsch
Do you know from which game the unused code fragments in The Year 1999 are? Actually it's only garbarge (random byte patterns), which can be found there.
sku_u
Would I open up my carts? Not if I have to sacrifice the labels- but then I'm sure we can find some that have worn labels to open up. You can remove labels using a heat gun with some practice, then reglue it onto the cart when you are finished without damaging the label. I've done this to quite a few games.
