Home Vision (updated list on first post!)

Maybe you're right.

I really don't know.

All I know is that Robot Fight (AKA Space Robot from Dimax - Sinmax) and War 2000 (AKA Astrowar from Dimax - Sinmax) are the first two titles of the Home Vision serie.

Maybe Home Vision didn't bother to put their own logo in at the beginning and later on they did.

Now that does make sense.  Perhaps we were both thinking 2 dimensional on this one Rom.  It would make perfect sense if the two companies were actually the same one.  I think we are finally making progress :D

Home Vision games were made by Gem Int'l Corp. Taiwan (P.O. Box 3832 Taipei TLX 12430)

Dimax - Sinmax games were also made in Taiwan:

But then again: a lot of Atari VCS2600 games were made in Taiwan.

Interesting facts:

Goliath's first title (Space Robot) is the same game as Space Robot from Dimax - Sinmax:

Goliath's second title (Astrowar) is the same game as Astrowar from Dimax - Sinmax:

But the Goliath Group of Companies was located in Hong Kong (G.P.O. Box 12195), instead of Taiwan.

From an old Dutch video game review book:

Dimax has its origin on Taiwan.

The there founded company also has other brands, ao: Puzzy, Bit, Sinmax and Funvision.

It's possible that one can also find Dimax games, offered under the name Goliath.

This concerns (perhaps illigal) duplicates of Dimax games by the Goliath Group of Companies in Hong Kong.

Something else:

If you take a look at the Rainbow Vision - Suntek list in this topic (post #11),

http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...opic=67975&st=0

you can see that almost every game numbered higher than SS-020 is a Home Vision game.

It could very well be that Dragon Defender (SS-021), Ski Run (SS-024), Spectracube Invasion (SS-025) and UFO Patrol (SS-031) are all Home Vision games.

It certainly makes sense.

Dimax certainly had its fingers in a lot of pies. So the question is, is Home Vision a sister company of Dimax or its own company and secondly did Hotshot license the games of Dimax, pirate them or were they too part of a bigger organisation?

  • 2 weeks later...

Two of the five screenshots on the Repro Cart box are 'recognizable':

Dragon Defender (Rainbow Vision)

The Dragon Defender screenshot supports my theory that Dragon Defender (from Rainbow Vision) is indeed a Home Vision game (with most probably another game title).

Now for the other three:

Unknown Home Vision game 1

Unknown Home Vision game 2

Unknown Home Vision game 3

Any idea?

BTW: clearer scans are more than welcome!

They look similar - but not the same - as Col 'N', Clown Down Town and Panda Chase but they're not identical....

True.

Unknown games 1 and 3 look like mock-ups, but I'm not sure.

It's really frustrating that I don't have clearer screenshot scans.
