Futurama where Fry and General Pac-Man have to fight the Space Invaders.

Space Invader: "We have reached the end of the base"

Space Invader Leader: "Then drop down one level, reverse direction and increase speed"

Best 10 minutes of television ever, next to maybe "Cowbell" sketch from SNL or the Rick James episode of Chappelle's Show.

"Cowbell" was A Riot!

As for classic arcade games, there is a scene in Bustin' Loose where the kids sneak off to an arcade. They show them playing a racing game. It was either LeMans or Sprint 4. I do remember the game being in black in white.

Recently on Everybody Hates Chris, Chris' friend Greg invites him over and they play his Atari 2600. Here is synopsis...http://www.upn.com/shows/everybody_hates_chris/shows/ep10/.I think they were playing Asteroids. In the Christmas episode when they ask each other what they're getting, Greg mentions he's getting a Colecovision.

The RUSH video for "Subdivisions" features Tempest arcade.

"Nowhere is the dreamer or the mystic so alone

Subdivisions

In the high school halls

In the backs of cars

Be cool or be cast out"

I just saw this video the other day on VH-1 Classics. What a great video (and song). I saw a video also for Sheena Easton (can't remember the song) and she takes what looks like a brand new Defender and Sinistar and throws them off a balcony. :x

Some others I can think of that I don't think have been mentioned:

Robotron 2084 in 'Better off Dead'

A few standups in the video 'Legs' by ZZTop

Haydn, I am not sure if this counts, perhaps as a reverse gaming/tv reference. I was channel surfing today and catched a glimpse of 1985's scifi movie "Explorers". It shows a very young Ethan Hawke talking to some cheesy looking aliens. One of the aliens looks awfully a lot like Fester Blatz, the World O'Wonders store clerk from (yet another oldie) Space Quest III. Now who took the reference from whom? lol Here are the pics:

'The Osterman Weekend' features Colecovision Cosmic Avenger early in the film.

'Breakdown' shows a kid play Jaguar DOOM when Kurt Russell sneaks into the house near the end.

There was that whole episode of 'Square Pegs' where one character becomes addicted to Pac Man and Father Guido Sarduchi has to perform an exorcism on him.
