A new Odyssey² project possibly.

Someone over on the videopac.nl forums suggested someone make Wizard of Wor for the Odyssey². The same guy who suggested someone make Turmoil, which I did and renamed it "Tunnels of Terror," so I decided to try to attempt to bring Wizards of Wor for the Odyssey². One problem: I've never played Wizard of Wor before.

That, however, did not stop me from going ahead and working on a new game involving a guy going around in a maze. If Wizard of Wor doesn't work out, I could always turn it into an Odyssey² port of Night Stalker.

What seems like an easy job turned out to take about 90 minutes. I couldn't get the grid to display correctly. When it did, I couldn't get the man to move. And then when he did, I had to work some more on wall collisions. I felt what would be good is to take the guy's last x and y direction and then bump it back the opposite way, and when it's bumping, make it so the controller won't work until the guy has successfully bumped out of the wall. I forgot what I did in the castle section of Jack and the Beanstalk, but I made sure both then and now to make sure I couldn't jump over the walls.

What I have here is 371 bytes, so I have plenty of room to add stuff. I suppose there's some sort of enemy, and that enemy needs to be shot at. Like I said, I've never played it before. I guess I should. I doubt I could get a working radar working, so that would have to be cut out. I don't know if that's an integral part of the game or not. And of course a score needs to be in the game.

One thing I think I will do is have the guy start outside the box, and have the number of guys remaining in the box.
