So I worked a long time last night on this game. I went to sleep at 5 a.m. and woke up at about 5 p.m. I turn the news on and they're threatening us with a freezing ice storm. The furnace gave us an error message this morning (computers!) but it gave up scaring us and started working again. If the power does go out, we have a gas fireplace to keep warm. But I hope it doesn't come to that.

I worked on Zyx 1k some more today and put everything on yesterday's list in the game. With 1 byte remaining. It took a long time trying to make the scanline a constant 262 because it was being a very stubborn jerk to me, but I think I did it. Tomorrow I plan to put this on my Harmony cart and test on real hardware...if I still have power. The threat is between 1/4 and 1/2 inches of ice sometime this week. The computer tells me "sleet off and on" even though it's 40 degrees right now. I don't know how it can sleet at 40 degrees.

Zyx must eat all the bananas and avoid the poisonous, deadly oranges. If Zyx eats an orange or misses a banana, he dies and the game ends.

• 0-19 fruit at slow speed
• 20-39 fruit at "randomly"-picked slow or fast speed
• 40+ fruit at high speed

I even took into account 100+ points, making sure it doesn't go back to the slow speed. I think it will if you roll the score though.

As you can see I added legs to Zyx as well as a bottom to the well he's stuck in. All in all though, once all the bugs had been sorted throujgh and squashed, I think it was a good experiment. A bit too easy, I think I could roll the score quite easily. I think I will show what I have in the homebrew section pretty soon.

Perhaps I will make a little 4k games cartridge with three 1k games and a menu. That is, if I can think of two other 1k game ideas. Does anyone have any?
