Atari_Bill
I think the following ebay listing meets all four requirements of this topic. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FVGA-GRADED-NM-80-ATARI-400-800-Princess-and-Frog-ATARI-Video-Game-System-NEW-%2F290967527736%3Fpt%3DVideo_Games_Games%26hash%3Ditem43bf042138%255D290967527736 Someone paid a grading company who gave it a grading of 80+ NEAR MINTcalling it a 5 1/4 INCH DISK GAME. I don't think I'd ever trust their grading system, they didn't even look close enough to read the box and see it is a cartridge game. Then the seller thinks it's worth $1,129.95, at least they made it Best offer and the plastic case will protect it. This seller has not been the sharpest guy on ebay for a while now. At least in the past his prices have only been ridiculous. Now that he's discovered the wonderful world of grading he can take ridiculous and multiply it times 10. There's a special place in hell for his type.

Atari_Bill
Anyone have any idea why this went so high? I know it's not a "ridiculous" high amount, but it was something I was interested in and compared to any last sales I looked up went at least double what they normally sell for. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F111156211060%3FssPageName%3DSTRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT%26_trksid%3Dp3984.m1423.l2649

Last one was sold 1/18 for $56. For something that shows up every 8 months the price is rather low. The blue re-release cartridge is even more rare than the box, because most blue re-release Spacechase boxes contain the old cartridge. I'd say the cartridge is as rare as Malagai. I got the cartridge for $3, so it is totally undervalued.

I've had several of this version over the years and traded / sold them off over time. I think I'm down to 2 of them at the moment.

Must be a recent phenomenon. From 2000 - 2010 time frame I know I picked up probably 6 of this style over the course of the decade for next to nothing. Guess I shoulda kept them all then. SoulBlazer
In general, I am mistified by the prices that Commodore items are going for these days, C64 games in particular. I can only guess that this is a rare game and being sealed adds to the value. Just from the cover, it reminds me of that Data East arcade game, Disco something-or-other.
