Funny / Stupid / Crazy / Lame Auction Listings

Recommended Posts

Ok, am I missing something or has Subterranea become the new Air Raid? I know that's a lot of an exaggeration, but as of this time less than 1 hour after listing, there are 15 bids and at $356?!?!?! Yes, I know the box is desirable, but c'mon. Really?

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 3606484149621?ff3=2&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&item=360648414962&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]

It sold for $404 I thought it woulda gone higher based on how the bidding started out.

I haven't ID'd the buyer ... yet ... but they've been throwing a TON of money around lately buying some high dollar items.

I would suspect based on the bidding activity, the location (Germany) and the user ID that it's a different account being used by our very own overpayer, Andre81.

I've got that one topped!

I contacted the seller, and sent this message:

FYI, this is a very common game, worth about $10.

Your listing came to my attention because it is posted on a funny auctions thread on AtariAge.

My assumption is you're an honest seller, and just didn't know how to assess the value of this game.

His response:

To me the condition of the game is very rare. If you can find me one for $10 in this condition I will buy all. Thank you for your concern.

I responded:

I can get you some. How much will you pay?

I'll be curious to see how high he says he's willing to go, but I think we may be able to help this guy out. :-D

Not sure who bid that one up. It's not even the original release/original box, it's a later international version from 1989.

Not really the smartest guy on earth:

Buyer is covered by protection so if it is a reproduction, they just need to file it as counterfeit label. Buyer will get the money back, and depending on if Paypal is generous or not, ask buyer to destroy the fake label and send statement indication it is destroyed.

Does anyone else also think that the main label looks much newer than the end label? eBay Auction -- Item Number: 1610311652591?ff3=2&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&item=161031165259&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]

That game probably didn't come with that box and manual when he bought it.

That seller likes to switch things around. Add games, boxes, and manuals together and jack up the price.

Our beloved reseller is probably now looking for a manual so he can sell it as CIB and jack up the price to $999 :D
