godzillajoe
AT8462542 A187 5410351 Does your A1 unit have the expansion port. I am assuming it does not. Nope. At least not from looking on the outside.

toymailman
Has expansion interface... A1 5057643. Interesting, is there any blue lettering (or numbers) between the "A1" and the "5057643"?

almightytodd
A1 86 5370798 (...no port) and A3 8C 5202035 ...pictures to follow... I think this begs the question, "Which is more rare? 7800's in general? or Heavy Sixers"?
toymailman
I think this begs the question, "Which is more rare? 7800's in general? or Heavy Sixers"? I think the "EP" versions of the 7800 are more rare than the Heavy Sixers because far fewer were made (only 5000).

Christophero Sly
Here's my 7800 w/ expansion port. If the EP units were supposedly made in Texas, why do they all clearly say "Made in Taiwan" on the label? Also, you might want to edit the title of this thread and remove "Early" as you now seem to be compiling a list of all 7800 serial numbers, not just the earliest ones. Tubular Gearhead
If the EP units were supposedly made in Texas, why do they all clearly say "Made in Taiwan" on the label? I have wondered the same thing and asked the same question. I have a guess- maybe all the labels were ordered and printed to say "made in Taiwan" because that is where the ultimate manufacturing location was going to be, and it was just cost effective to print them all this way- ignoring the fact that the first run would come out of Texas. Anyone else want to hazard a guess or shed some light on the subject? Also, the question as to why my EP model has a # in the 8K range? Thanks in advance!
