Xot
You know, it occurs to me that I never mentioned Lizard Wizard in my original response. Bomb Jack is another one, although that's been discussed elsewhere.
ZylonBane
As long as we're going totally obscure, I've felt for a while that the 2600 could manage a decent port of Warp-Warp. http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter...W&game_id=10407
sandmountainslim
Arcade: Do Run Run!, Galaga, Qix, and Super Pac-Man. 39968 What about Fonz???
Big Player
This thread is so old it actually predates Happy Days, so cut them some slack.
yuppicide
Why can't you download it?! I have a game here that looks exactly like that and don't know where I got it. <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Bob Bytchin:<STRONG>Pac-Man (I mean REAL Pac-Man) </STRONG><HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Did you see the <a href="http://www.atariage.com/software_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=1022">Ebivision version of Pac-Man</a>? Zonie
Wow, this IS an old thread. My Picks: scorched earth - played that a lot on the PC back in the day solitare - Easy to do. Recycle the cards from Casino tetris - Acid drop looks like Tetris. It could easily be done, even with good pitfall 2 style music. adventure 2 - A sequal would have been nice back then. supercat
solitare - Easy to do. Recycle the cards from Casino How would you propose getting seven cards per scan line? I know it's possible given enough RAM (hey, even THIRTEEN is possible with enough RAM!) but using the stock 2600, seven cards per scan line is going to be an interesting trick. Doable perhaps with Venetian Blinds and repeated RESPx trickery, but still really tricky. tetris - Acid drop looks like Tetris. It could easily be done, even with good pitfall 2 style music. Tetris clones exist. But the 2600 was basically dead by the time Tetris came out, so nobody felt like licensing it. adventure 2 - A sequal would have been nice back then.931653 Get a Flashback 2. Cybergoth
Hi there! the goonies One might ask Eduardo to port the MSX version to the Coleco lemmings Very tough one. It'd flicker like hell. 3 stooges The Cinemaware classic? Cool idea. Would be fun to strip that graphics monster down to it's basic mini games. ultima exodous That is Ultima III? I'd love to see the whole series converted, with some engine like for Pauls Homestar RPG. worms The Team 17 one I assume. Well, a touch easier than lemmings Greetings, Manuel
adams_ale
Well there is already Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween so why not Friday the 13th?! A scaled down NES version would be excellent or any version for that matter. Perhaps the code to Raft Rider with Jason Vorhees popping out of the water sporadically in an attempt to knife you. It wouldn't matter what Jason looks like on the 2600 as by his very nature he is grotesque. Every 30 seconds or so would have you going to specific docks to save campers as Jason walks toward them swinging a machete(something like the game Halloween). I'd love to see this game fleshed out. As for Tetris, it came out about the time the 2600 jr came out, so it was possible. Adventure 2, read my post. I stated: "back then" as for the FB2, Yeah Maybe I'll get one.. if the quality improves. Joey Kay
I concur with Shark Shark or whatever that INTV game was called... The other Intellivision game that I was WILD about was Utopia. That was a GREAT game - really, the forefather to the Sim games (as far as I know). That would have been fun on the 2600... Cheers!
Cybergoth
Hi there! Jumpman Jumpman is still high on my ToDo list. Some day you will play that on the 2600, promised Greetings, Manuel
River Raider
Loderunner Loderunner! Yeah man! That game freakin' rocked! I remember playing that game for hours on my friend's green screen PC. Also had a lot of fun designing levels for Loderunner.....Ahhh memories..... HP Atari King of Michigan
I personally would've liked to seen a Mortal Kombat for the 2600 or even the 7800. I would've love to seen how that was ported on the 2600.
Foxsolo2000
Street Fighter II. If they attempted it for the Vic 20, why not the 2600?
bowser724
definitely a good version of tempest. the crappy prototype sucked, but with some programming and lots of time, i'm sure it could be done.
Cybergoth
Hi Erik! Arcade: Do Run Run!, Galaga, Qix, and Super Pac-Man. I'm hard-pressed to think of how the last two would even be feasible without massive flicker. Just thought that now as being an experienced 2600 programmer yourself, you're more than ready to work on some of these Especially Qix would be a cool project. There can never be enough Taito games ported to the VCS Computer ports: M.U.L.E., Fire Bug (a masterful game from ANALOG magazine), Ballblazer, and Boulderdash. Ballblazer would be amazing. I think Rob Kudla is still working on it every once in a while. Greetings, Manuel
silverpoodleman
I realize the timing may be off, but the best video game ever made is Tetris. I'm pretty sure that atari was DOA by the time tetris came along, but tetris followed the Atari mantra of a game that is "incredibly easy to learn and incredibly difficult to master." -------------------------------------------- postscript - just read through most of the responses and realized this was covered about 187 times so far. My apologies. Given that, my next answer would be Super Terrific Happy Pong Edited September 17, 2005 by silverpoodleman
Spector
Well, theres's Moon Cresta too. That could have been done I'm sure.

+cvga
EdTris is a good tetris game for the Atari! I'd like to see Bomberman appear on the 2600.
iguana
I would have liked a Dungeons and Dragons like Intelli. I liked that game.
Lauren Tyler
How about Polybius? Seriously, these are just some ideas off the top of my head: Bomb Jack Swimmer Spelunker (It could be done with a little button-joystick combinations, and using upward to jump) Impossible Mission (just kidding! )
Robert M
Impossible Mission (just kidding! ) Actually, Impossible Mission is very doable for the 2600. The game play is stratified into horizontal zones which is very 2600 friendly. Just look at Keystone Capers to see what I am talking about. Cheers!
