+nanochess
Hi guys. This year I've been working hard in Mecha-9 trying to make the best ever shooter for Colecovision It will be available this Christmas 2015 from Team Pixelboy, you can preorder your copy sending an e-mail to Pixelboy (pixelboy [at] teampixelboy {dot} . com ) The game will work just fine in a regular Colecovision, or it will have enhanced sound if you add a Super Game Module. Time to show a video of the final result https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDVVi95PIYQ Enjoy it!
TPR
Wow! Again, what just constantly amazes me about this homebrew community is the high quality of games that come from it. For years I spent time with programmers working on commercial games, most of the time they were being TOLD what they had to make (and most of the time it wasn't a project they wanted to work on, but hey...a paycheck, right?) and the stuff I'm seeing out of this community is every bit as good as what those "commercial" programmers put out if not BETTER because you're working on a game that you want to make and it's a passion project! I love Mecha-8 and I can't wait to play this one! My pre-order is already in! Congrats, Oscar!

Kiwi
I should finish Mecha 8. I did beat it once. I had to replay it again because of the sound chip in the SGM. Even with the Genesis modded controller, it's tough. Perhaps I need more coffee. Either way, I'm ready for Mecha 9. I just need to fill up the paypal account by Christmas, and inject this game directly into my veins.
Pixelboy
I do believe I'll be using this video in the "media" sub-section of Mecha-9 on teampixelboy.com. Hope you don't mind, nanochess?

phattyboombatty
Dude! I love it. Mecha-8 and Mecha-9 are so awesome for the ColecoVision. Such an incredible homebrew with true arcade ability. I really like that Mecha-9 is like an extension to -8. Sequels like Zelda (where they keep revamping the game) are all good, but I love the throwback game implementation like this, where it's more of a parallel story. Kind of like Pac-Man and Pac-Man Plus, or SMB and SMB-2 (J). There are better examples too. The cool thing is that there are subtle differences to explore. Mecha-8 is a difficult game and I hope one day to get past the 2nd boss. But that won't stop me from buying Mecha-9 and enjoying more awesomely fun gameplay!

Pixelboy
SGM only which is obsolete right? Edit sorry read forst post again will work on regular coleco. What makes you say that the SGM is obsolete?
+Gemintronic
What makes you say that the SGM is obsolete? Probably meant the SGM is not readily available from a storefront so he doesn't consider it obtainable hardware? That's my guess.
Jinks
Yeah. Not for sale for purchase by a vendor. At least the programmer makes the game to operate for everyone with a colecovision. How much will this game be sold for? Does it come boxed and have or need an overlay for the controller as well? Oh and great work very impressive. Easily the best coleco shooter ever made. SiLic0ne t0aD
It'll be CIB, released by Pixelboy. http://teampixelboy.com/mecha9.php
Pixelboy
How much will this game be sold for? Does it come boxed and have or need an overlay for the controller as well? The current estimated price is 46.95$US, but that price may change by a dollar or two on release day, depending on any unforseen production expenses. All my games comes with box and manual. There will be no controller overlay included with Mecha-9.
Jinks
That is a reasonable price for a CIB release.
