Coleco Chameleon .... hardware speculations?

With the RVGS, yes, but he never said anything publicly about the Chameleon.

That's why I asked. Both Mike and John said that Steve was heavily involved in the RVGS part of the project and he did do that interview, but since then he went totally silent and I don't even know if he was part of the Chameleon part of it.

You missed the spot in which Mike threw Steve under the bus explicit stating that up until then he was protecting him but Steve was along for the ride until the end (it must be around 20 pages ago or something, I believe right before the "we need a bigger bus" Jaws meme).

It's an honest mistake, it's hard to keep track between over the bus/in the bus/under the bus/across the bus with that nutjob mouthpiece.

Thoughts: If everyone who posted in this thread had set off $0.10 per post to Mike, he would mostly have been reimbursed for the checks by now. If everyone who viewed this thread had set off $0.05 per view to Albert, he would have plenty of money for hosting and everything else, likely for a long while into the future.

Not interested, Mike can use the law to recover that money, or chalk it up to experience.

Good idea, subscriptions are over here: http://atariage.com/forums/page/subscriptions

The line was crossed when legitimate concerns were dismissed as haters and trolls. That goes back before indigogo.

This is another key component for me. Looking solely at the Chameleon fiasco, we were asking legitimate questions and were dismissed as trolls/haters/drunk or altogether ignored. And we had NO money invested in this. We were just interested parties. Mike asked Sean or Mr. Lee or whoever NONE of these questions. There are only two options:

A) Mike is a completely incompetent person who blindly threw money at people without asking what they're doing.

B) He was in on the scam.

Pat and Ian did another segment (probably their last) on the RVGS/Chameleon on their most recent #CUPodcast (skip to 1:26:14), and that was their conclusion as well: Mike is either a dumb fraudster, or an extremely dumb businessman. Either way, even if he is telling the truth, there's no way he comes out of this story looking good.

EDIT: Here is the corresponding video, although Ian's last line about what Mike's next venture should be didn't make the cut: "Go make flutes at the Ren Fest!"

theres nothing barring him being both. like i said a few pages back, i think he has a child's mind. thats not meant as an insult, its simply an observation. critical thinking would have probably stopped him from making the mistakes he's made, or even actual accepting his guilt. also makes it very easy to slough off criticism.

Ha ha it's as if you're from socialist Sweden or something. ;-)

Most of my posts in this thread are variants of "how dare this no-talent scammer ask for our money?"

Perhaps you can see the problem with the idea of giving Mike any amount of money, amusing as he may be. :-D

I am gratified that AtariAge got a few more subscriptions out of this fiasco, though.

BTB and the Jag Bar get mentioned once again on the podcast!

What was Kennedy thinking??

Translation: I am so brilliant, my mind is like a racetrack! Even though you keep laughing at me, I tried to share my ideas- my brains. Then you turned it around, turned it into a weapon, to use against me. I'm trying to remain unemotional, but remember- I'm giving you far more than what you give me.

(I have no idea what 'fish finger for later' means, maybe he's saying we're making a big stink about this and won't let it go, but that's just a guess.)

wait a minute? isn't that a clip of Noel Fielding doing one of his strange characters?

Mike, stop talking about "collecting" every stupid little idea you fart out! Nobody cares!

The only reason people collect anything is if they liked it. You can't just plop something on the table and magically deem it "collectible"!

Absolutely. My post was more of the kind "put things into perspective" than "this is how we should solve it".

But as someone posted several weeks ago, this thread has become something of a "killer app" for the forum, and we get new exciting features to the "app" every now and then.

I like how he was drinking hater troll juice, playing an awesome pinball game with you, giving good commentary, being laid back and cool, etc. and then just couldn't help himself at the end with his,"I think you paid a little much." criticism. He is like if Dave Hester was a retro gamer.

Fair enough! Though I think a $7000 "fine" is an appropriate penalty for acting like a tool and lying to the public in such a spectacular way. He could have taken a lot more from others had he been even slightly more competent. There was a crowd of suckers on the Facebook page lined up to pledge funds for cartridges.

Or at least it looked that way once everyone else was edited out.

Ah, thanks! That video hadn't been posted at the time, so I'll go back and add a link.

I'm sure that Pat and Ian (and Will Cladley of Game Escape) are just about done talking about Mike Kennedy and the RVGS/Chameleon by now, but I gotta say, it's GREAT to get one more round of videos from them. Thanks, guys!

You know, they SAY that they are sick of talking about it, but I am not entirely convinced. :D

I had a feeling that his latest appearance in this thread was going to generate some more CUPodcast subject material, and I was not disappointed.

And did anyone else notice that if Mike had just listened to the Atari Age crew in the first (and maybe 2nd and 3rd) place(s), that he would have SAVED a lot of money?

So while he's hating on you guys, you could have helped save him money and his rep.
