TI BASIC/TI EXTENDED BASIC Games that are worth to be compiled...

As promised:

*******************************************
*    TI BASIC/EXTENDED BASIC COMPILED GAMES     *
*               MEGA COMPILATION V1.0.0                         *
*******************************************

All the 50 games in one .zip archive, with scripts to rename for FinalGROM (I've only tested the Windows script, not the Un*x counterpart).

There is also an Excel file with the list and some additional fields to track the status of the various compiled games. I need your support to complete all the blank fields!

Feedbacks (and help...) are welcome, expecially if we want to try to reach 100 compiled games... ;-)

Just remembered, there is also Billy Ball Resurrection.

The Billy Ball At The Hatchery is done! Nice game. It required a lot of tuning in its compiled version, but I should have obtained a correct interpretation of the gameplay. ;-)

And for the weekend we have also Slinky by Cosmi. Nice Q*Bert style game. There are few glitches in the gfx, but these are present also in the original BASIC version, at least in the copy I have (if someone has a better version, please let me know, so I can update the compiled version).

Nice.  Billy Ball after completing the screen it comes at the white screen and makes a sound and hangs.

(in Classic 99, I have not tried a real TI),  but impressive conversion from XB !

It's really strange. I've played up to the 3rd screen using Classic 99 (version QI399.010, not a recent one). I'll check it on the real iron and MiSTer.

mine is QI399a version, maybe that's the issue.

but really cool how these XB games are translated, amazing!

(now I wondering if we can convert Othello of the TILT magazine and see how fast it is)

(see the XB listing of the magazine in this forum, but let me find the TIBAS/XB version,

I think I had it on Cassette and transferred all of these and will see if I see some more interesting games)

In 1991 I rewrote Othello in TP99  (I do not know the original author, but I still have the original magazine of Tilt)

yes, maybe it's the version. We need to check on the real machine.

Regarding Othello, I do not have the listing in my collection for this version, but looking at the scans it seem that can be compiled. If you have the FIAD I'll try it. ;-)

And also the Billy Ball Resurrection is compiled. The game has really gained a lot of playability now. There are 8 levels. I added a couple of additional lives. ?

The game is not from the original author (R. Trueman), but from Retrospect.

I just tried to search it but I did not find it yet, it should be on my TIPI image that crashed last time (I thought I copied all CASS files, but some directories are empty, need to look into that again tomo.)

I've tested with MAME and I was able to move to level 3, after the bonus screen that has problems for you. So, it could be a problem with that version of Classic 99. In attachment the .rpk for MAME/MESS.

Those are all i know of.

Billy Ball Plays Catch was also compiled, so we finished this serie! ?  I don't like too much this episode. The falling hearts and notes remind me Popeye, but that was an excellent game and one of my favourites on the TI.

Another game from R. Trueman: Crazy Cliff The Climber. The game is really fast in XB and is very difficult. If you want to challenge your reflexes... I wasn't able to pass the first screen. In the code there are additional obstacles in the next levels, but not able to try them! ?

If you like some mobile games (Flappy Bird, The Spikes, Jump and other games from Ketchapp) you need to try it.

Hehe.. I just noticed my old Hero game was in there... that's from 1988, not 2016. In 2016 I released HeroX - the 4k assembly port. ;)

Ooooppss... another of your games compiled: Cliff Climber. ?

Rich has said that 99.9% of BASIC programs will run in RXB. This program is one of the .1%. It runs fine in TI BASIC, but when you run it in eiher XB 2.8 G.E.M. or RXB 2015 the problem is there just as you describe and as shown in my video. This is a bit of a mystery to me, since RXB and XB GEM simply adjust the limit checks to allow characters in sets 15 and 16 to be used.

The compiler is working properly in that the compiled code works the same as the XB program. The problem is caused by differences between BASIC and XB.

So, I've found another game in the 0.1% percent... ? It's Skier 99 (in attachment). It works fine in TI BASIC, but not in RXB and of course also after the compilation.

It simply does not update the screen with the updated graphics, but only draws the bottom line. I was not able the find what is the offending code, so help is welcome! ?
