Crazy Climber
Collection update! Yeah, I know I said I was keeping it to larger lot purchases initially but I threw an offer of $20 shipped for this nice frogger 2 cartridge and the ebay seller accepted! Frogger 2 seems to have stayed pretty consistent over the years. Back in my collecting heyday it was a $15 to $20 game and apparently it still is. Its not super rare or anything but definitely uncommon...and its actually pretty fun to play too! Kind of a poor pic that doesn't do it justice, its in pretty good condition! Current collection - 145 games Total investment - $355
Cebus Capucinis
Averaging just around $2.50 a game, not bad!

Gateway
Your collection is growing like wildfire! ?? My next day off is Tuesday the 16th. If you haven't already reached 404 by then, I have about half dozen uncommon game duplicates that you don't (currently) have pictured. I will send you a PM on Tuesday evening.

Yeah, boxed is just too expensive for anything slightly rare these days, kinda takes the fun out of it... 1 hour ago, Gateway said: Your collection is growing like wildfire! ?? I will send you a PM on Tuesday evening. Please do! I'm a motivated collector and haven't blown through all my "start up" cash yet. Just a warning, I'm a cheap bastard so you need to at least beat ebay/price charting comps/etc, especially if its a smaller lot (shipping adds up quick on the small stuff ? ) On the plus side I'm not very picky about condition (I despise missing end labels though, unless its something pretty rare and affordable haha) Thanks man! 2 1
Crazy Climber
Collection Update! Well, this happened last night.... This was a local trade, basically I had some NES stuff he wanted and he had this pile of Atari that I wanted. As everyone knows, NES stuff is really hot right now so I said the trade will need to "heavily" slide in my favor (lets face it, although there is some decent boxed stuff in there, common atari games just do not sell as well as uncommon NES stuff) he was completely cool with it and was well aware of all the values of everything/etc so no trickery was involved (I'm cheap but I'm honest!) He was a NES collector, not an Atari collector and I got the impression he kind of wanted to just move the whole lot of atari stuff. Thats great news for me! Basically I only needed these games... Oops, almost forgot this little guy... In the end we worked the trade out so I got the games above for free, I'll keep the values of the "trade stuff" out of this topic with respect for the AA members that are buying the games I don't need. They might want to re-sell a few to recoup their investments (they definitely could as I am giving them great bulk deals) but long story short, I got the (mostly common) games I needed for free (with a little work involved of course, games don't pack and ship themselves haha) Here is a pic of the entire collection now... Trade pile is looking pretty meaty... Current Collection - 200 games (thought it was 202 but just noticed I doubled up Street Race and Slot racers!) Total Investment - $355 Might need to hunt a few "uncommons" down. Some Zimag or Tigervision would be nice...even out the collection a little Edited November 17, 2021 by Crazy Climber missed something

I'm working on starting a "trade" thread in the marketplace that will have a full list of what I need/etc (guess I'm going for the label variations now since I have a jump start on it haha) I'll give you a heads up when I post it! 24 minutes ago, Yurkie said: Looks like you have 32 Activision carts. Games like H.E.R.O., Double Dragon, Cosmic, etc aren't as cheap as they used to be. Frosbite is a great example of this, it was not a pricey game loose back 10 years ago, like not at all. You would often see it in common piles/etc.. It has a lot of nostalgia for me though so I'm definitely tracking one down. Frostbite, River Raid and Dark Cavern were the only 3 games my friend had that I didn't own so whenever I came over I always played them. It's actually a damn good game too (as you mentioned) the difficulty ramps up perfect, highly playable!! I'm hoping I stumble on a cheap one in a lot, no rush, I'm patient

Crazy Climber
Out of the blue AA member Christopero Sly contacted me about some extra games he had. I made my standard offer but he REJECTED it and gave them to me for an even LOWER price than I offered! What a guy! He even threw some extra manuals in as a bonus, way cool ? Thank you!! I'm probably most excited for KRULL I'm one of the few people that actually liked that movie back in the day, had I knew an atari game existed for it I would have bought it for sure, but sadly I didn't find out until many years after they made a game for it. This lot made me decide to go for label variations. I was just going to accumulate them in lots here and there like bonus chips but I guess I'm all in now ? Thanks again Christopero Sly!! Cobra Kai
You're getting close to my collection that I casually obtained through garage sales and video game stores, and it took me 35 years. I had around 300 carts before selling.

Something a little harder to find, maybe a couple R8 games, I don't know haha
Crazy Climber
Sold some of my duplicates for $25 which brings my total down to $365. Kind of a nuisance post, was going to wait and do all the sales at once but if I don't record it in "real time" I wont remember haha Current collection - 217 games Total Investment - $365 These duplicates now have a new owner... And I still have these available if anyone wants to trade? More games coming soon, have quite a few deals being negotiated currently! Crazy Climber
Collection update! The following were waiting for me when I got home from work today... Did I overpay at $165 shipped? Yeah, in my mind I did...but it was a good opportunity to grab a lot of uncommon games I needed all at once in the $5 to $15 range so I just impulse bought it. Kind of rare to find a group of games like this together at this stage. If I would have thought about it longer I think I would have passed but whats done is done and I have the games now so whatever haha Tac Scan has a weird sticker on the back, I remember back in the day it came with a poster, did it come with a sticker too? I don't remember... I was also able to sell around 50 of my commons for $75 so that brings my total down a bit. I think I'm still doing pretty good ? Current collection - 233 games Total invested - $

You've accumulated a nice collection of carts in a short amount of time?

Totally going to forward this pic to him (he's not a classic game guy so will be fun to see if he even remembers this) 1 hour ago, roadrunner said: Alot of room on those shelves for more games. Negotiating a few smaller lot purchases right now, fingers crossed... 43 minutes ago, Atarian7 said: Looks like you have quite a few games that could be used as shells for new homebrews. +Omegamatrix
It's neat watching this grow! You already got a few carts (Kool-Aid Man, Cosmic Corridor, and one of the Xonox Double Enders) that I never had when I had a pile of 'em too. With Tac-Scan I never knew Sega had patches or else I forgot about it. 1
Crazy Climber
Collection update (small) Found a James bond for $18 shipped. Not the best label and let's be honest, gameplay sucks on this one but its definitely a harder to find PB game and one of the last ones I found at a decent price last time I did this... Also found a sears picture label star Raiders in my doubles pile! Since the end label is similar to the atari release I must not have noticed. Close call, almost sent it to Albert for recycling. I also sold a Superman pic label (duplicate) with instructions for $4 so that goes back towards more games! Current collection - 235 games Total investment - $494
