I have a never used Atari 400 here and this 400 replica looks damn good, colors, etc, I just might have to buy one and actually use it, I also have an 800 that has never been used, unfortunately they have no boxes or anything else, they will probably end up in a museum...

I think it would have been cooler if they made a 1200XL mini.  Can you imagine how awesome it would be Retro Games made a full-size 1200XL?  That would be really awesome, but I would think that it would be too expensive to duplicate that design.

Unlike with the C64 and Amiga mini,

You mean THEA500 mini. They "could" have used the Amiga mark, but since they knew everyone would refer to it as "Amiga" verbally and in print and given the legal situation ongoing in the U.S. and abroad they opted not to.

At this point "THE" has somewhat become their branding for products anyway.

As to why RetroGames Ltd.? Existing relationship as stated earlier. Not to mention Darren Melbourne and his knowledge of licensing and his contacts. It offers additional opportunities.

Support for my statements

I'm looking for a definitive (complete) list of Atari 400 games but I'm having a real hard time on the internet finding it. Would like to use the list to curate my own set of "
Best of Atari 400" games to add to usb to expand the games beyond what's on the unit.

Is there anyone who could help me with this? There must be a complete list of Atari 400 games out there SOMEWHERE...

Do you mean Atari 400 only games or Atari 400/800/1200/XL/XE games?

In the latter case, from A8 topic for newbies

Homesoft (games in XEX and ATR format when XEX isn't available, continually updated and cleaned - no intros, no unpacking delays, no glitches - click on download button on the right, extract zip file and you'll get all games inside A-Z folders).

Not a complete package but the best old and new games.

In the mentioned topic first's post there are other sources.

Not sure of your reasoning here. The original Atari 400 has just 16 kB of RAM. Therefore only games that will run with 16 kB RAM or less are technically valid so you are limited to early titles only.

Most original Atari 400/800 cassette and cartridge games were released as such, specifically for the 400/800 machines which came with limited RAM due to cost.

However the 400 Mini emulates a 400-130XE which has 128 kB of RAM, and some of the games supplied with the 400 Mini require at least 48 kB RAM.

----------------------------

Features

The 400 Mini is a half-sized version of the distinctively styled Atari 400, emulating the whole 8-bit Atari range from the 400 to the 130XE, and the Atari 5200 home console. Also included is the CXStick, a recreation of the classic Atari CX40 joystick, with an additional seven seamlessly integrated function buttons and USB-A connectivity.

Play one of the 25 built-in games, including: Lee, Berzerk, Millipede, Miner 2049er, M.U.L.E, and Star Raiders II. Save your progress at any point in one of four save slots per game, or even pause and rewind gameplay to help you through the most difficult parts — a feature new to the 400 Mini. Play your own compatible games via a USB flash drive.

----------------------------

This allows the 400 Mini to run a majority of the currently available titles in the Atari 400-130XE range.

What file type will the 400 Mini USB flash drive accept?
