What games bring you back to the A8?

I've never been much of a computer gamer myself, even though I had (and still have) literally hundreds of them...

These are the only ones I ever played more than a few times:

One on One

7 Cities

Star Raiders (my 1st game)

Centipede, Millipede (all those pedes)

Galaxian (my 3rd game)

Defender (my 2nd game)

Hardball

Last Starfighter

Karateka

Roto

Zork

and most recently:

Yoomp

Except for Hardball & One on One, I probably never finished a single one of them.

Interesting thread.

In my case, the first ones I play are all pretty quick games, nothing that requires a big time commitment like Ultima:

Star Raiders

Ms. Pac-Man

Pole Position

Joust

Dig-Dug

1. M.U.L.E.

2. Wizard of Wor

3. Floyd of the Jungle (I lost my disk, I wish I could find a replacement)

4. Agent U.S.A. (this game really rocks)

5. Mar Tesoro (it's a game written in BASIC where you rent a boat and dive for treasure. It's very well done)

honorable mention:

STARQUEST-STARWARRIOR (also written in BASIC by the CRUSH,CRUMBLE & CHOMP people, you fly around a planet in your jumpsuit and take out tanks and other baddies. addicting)

Dog Daze Deluxe is an excellent game. Spent many many hours playing that one as a family when me and my two brothers lived at home. Boy do I miss those days. Growing up stinks

I feel we should hack a 64K version of Ghostbusters that adds the missing 'He Slimed Me!' sample (e.g. from the C64)

And add the missing players' colors!

and make the slimers easier to catch in the traps, seems I recall them being alot easier to catch on the commode door 64.

Add Defender and Robotron, and you've got the makings of a perfect Sunday afternoon. :)

I know that Atari's latter-day games get short shrift, but most are excellent and deserve repeated plays. Deflektor, MIDI Maze, Tower Toppler, and Commando are all superb, and I've logged countless hours on Xenophobe.

On my upright cabinet, I frequently come back to these when I'm alone...

Blue Max

Crossfire

Missile Command

Alley Cat

Pharaoh's Curse

Rainbow Walker

Starfire

and these if playing 2-player with one of the kids...

Seawolf II

Dog Daze Deluxe

Kikstart

Archon

Matchboxes

If I'm sitting at the computer with time to kill...

Crush, Crumble, and Chomp

M.U.L.E.

Ultima III (put some coffee on)

Thread properly necromanced!
