phaxda
Today I picked up a "Video Game Organizer" that was still sealed up in plastic, for $4.50. It's from back in the day, as I already have one, but mine was without the smoked plastic cover. This one had that and my 7800 is loving its new case. Half the fun was tearing into the plastic and this is one of those things that's a great thrift find, because those plastic covers so rarely survive shipping! The picture does not do it justice; it's flawless. No scratches, no cracks, no nothing!

phaxda
A thrift store outside of town here... It's been my go-to place lately. SMS games and a great speaker buy (AR-6s for those curious) in the last few weeks. I almost wanted to leave the game center all wrapped in plastic, but if there's one thing that should be USED... nice find there phaxda where did u buy that at? redglass77
Just two weeks ago I was bumming on a cloudy sunday afternoon with a friend of mine we hit up a local thrift store and I found Reggie Jacksons Baseball for the Sega Master System, ok I am a baseball fan and I'm 31 years young, so old enough to remember the SMS but I'm having a hard time recalling any memory of anybody back in the late 80's ever talking about playing this, lol maybe I was to busy with MLB and Baseball Stars (still IMO the GREATEST Baseball vid of that era if not the greatest of all time) alas I didn't pick up Reggies BB for SMS not fear of buyers remorse just happen to make a wrong head turn and saw records I smell records and like a zombie I start digging for them, couldn't get those either as I found out they didn't take plastic and I should have known that I just got use to Goodwill accepting it. ohhh and speaking of Goodwill two days later my gf and I were bumming around in there and I found a PS for 14$ with hook ups and controllers for 4$ a piece. didn't grab that either, went to Target and did the responsible adult thing and bought new work boots. but a friend did inform me that if I wanted a PS he would just sell me his plus 2controllers and 20games for 35$ it can all work out in the end, lol
MCHufnagel
I went to my local Gamestop at lunch time to see if they had anything interesting. On the pc game rack I saw a copy of Theif II for 1 cent! I went to the counter and the clerk said that this game was supposed to have been pulled. But he gave it to me, and didn't even charge me the penny! Of course he does know me quite well and I bet he wouldn't have done this for many other people. But hey a free game is a free game! shadow460
Grabbed SMB3 for NES the other day. It cost me $5.
MFoolsRun
Grabbed a copies of Space War, Combat (picture label, shut up, I didn't have it yet), Superman and Frogger last night. The other day I found an "official" Genesis shelving thingie in its original, very taped up box. It's about two feed wide and one foot tall and holds some number of unboxed Genesis games in special genny-sized slots. There is a name on this thing but I can't remember it now. Unfortunately I seem to have done too good a job collecting boxed Genny games --I can't fill it!
Swingtown
I found a Atari 2600 Jr. (short rainbow) with some games at Goodwill yesterday. They had a ton of gaming stuff there yesterday, but I own almost everything thing else they had.
catbox_9
I've never attempted to go to a thrift store for games until today. I went to Goodwill. There wasn't much of a selection and I was about to leave before I noticed they have a gaming section buried in the corner. I picked up Disney's Aladdin CIB for $3.25. They also had Echo the Dolphin missing instructions and some game whose name I forgot without instructions along with a basketball and wrestling game for the NES. Since I didn't really care about any of these games I only picked up the CIB game as the rest were pretty beat up. Still, I plan on hitting more of these because those are pretty good prices. Not related to video games at all, I found the movie Cobb starring Tommy Lee Jones on DVD for just $3-something as well. I'm a huge Detroit Tigers / Ty Cobb fan so I'm pretty excited about this. The movie goes for $10+ whenever I've checked on eBay.
rockman_x_2002
Today I visited a new local thrift store that put in just roughly after Christmas. At first, they carried primarily clothes, toys, and things like that. However, in the past month they started carrying electronics (a few Genesis games here and there, but nothing interesting to me). Tonight however changed all that. Picked up a TRS-80 CoCo2 and CoCo3, together for $6. The CoCo2 worked fine, but the 3 didn't. I opened it up, reseated the GIME chip as per some instructions on the web, and now she works just fine. First time I've ever owned a CoCo or seen one in person even. phaxda
Picked up a CIB copy of 2600 Black Jack (gatefold box, instructions, nice and clean) for $2.00, which is the most I have paid for a 2600 game at a thrift in some time. Also got World Grand Prix for the SMS, same price. I don't know what it is with the SMS games lately; they are everywhere around here. I hit 4 stores yesterday and this was all I came away with, so it was a rather disappointing trip. I did pick up a Large Advent speaker for FREE because it didn't have a mate. I wish it did; they are rather rare speakers. That was all for the audio, though. Rough day, all told.

Hey, a working NES for $20 is never a bad thing, welcome to the club! That's what I paid for mine. It came with the auto switchbox, official power supply, and two very worn out controllers. The PS1 I have is a 7000 series and it came from that same store. It cost me a whopping five bucks.
