I'm considering getting Planescape: Torment EE, though.

Eh, nevermind. I hadn't read the reviews before, and just assumed there was new content like the other EEs.

Sounds like there's no reason to pay money for a tiny upgrade when I already have the original game, and the EE probably doesn't run in Win 98 anyway.

I'm going to run some arcade games in vertical mode on this. :-)

If I was smart, I would get something like that. I have an LCD monitor that I use for playing The Pinball Arcade in portrait mode, and it's just kind of leaning in an old chair.

If you were smart, you'd buy Planescape Torment Enhanced just to have it in another format, with easy compatibility to modern Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux. Cloud saves, zoom.

What's seven bucks?

https://www.gog.com/game/planescape_torment_enhanced_edition

Included goodies: 2 HD wallpapers+ 16 avatars+ 104 artworks+ Chris Avellone and Colin McComb book

I almost want to gift it to you but that would send the wrong message! :lolblue:

I hadn't thought of vertical mode for pinball. I wonder if Pinball FX3 works that way? I'm gonna find out. :-D

I'm 99% sure it already works in XP, and I have no intent to run Linux or modern Mac.

I don't really like the zoom mode, and the reviews say that the new UI is slower than the old one. Most of them say to stick with the original game and just download (free) mods, but now, if you don't already have it, you can only get it by purchasing the EE.

I had originally planned on running it in 98, but I was mis-remembering...I could've sworn it supported A3D 2.0, but I just checked the page and it says EAX, so I guess I'll be running it in XP (if I ever get through that huge backlog).

I run almost everything in XP, I don't like Windows 7.

I only have a 98 machine because Aureal 3D cards don't have drivers for any newer OS. It is nice to have my Voodoo 3 in there though, so I can run the odd DOS Glide games like GTA and Tomb Raider. But even Windows games "feel" better with Voodoo graphics...maybe it's all in my head?
