NeoNoPanepon2 is a fantastic looking homebrew game that I supported this project a few years back. The gentleman that was developing the game goes by the name of Blastar, and has a Patreon page and YouTube channel for gamers to support his work. He wanted to develop the game over to the Neo Geo CD originally. If all went well, he would've included an MVS and AES physical version of the title later on. However, the game progress stalled. Blastar said he was experiencing a large workload and was avoiding a splitscreen towards the game. He also said it wasn't suitable for a 2 player mode. So he hired an additional worker to help with the continuation of the project. But that was in March of 2021. This's what he said in the comment section of Patreon. "After the original pixel artist has no more time to work on suitable assets I contacted other artists - but it seems to be hard to continue this very special style. Additionally the engine is designed for classic jump&run gameplay and is very close to hardware to get the maximum out of it (sprite count, splitscreen, 50fps w/o slowdowns etc.) but most artist want to create multiplatform games in metrovania style, in my opinion it doesn't work on AES/NGCD nor on MVS. Currently I do not know how to continue here." But looks like this project is. The game is/was called, "Neo Thunder X". It was in development from a homebrewer in Italy called, 7blackjack8. The game had a such cool looking intro that I thought was just stunning to say the least. Like one of the best I ever seen that I really had high hopes for a physical Neo-Geo release. But that stalled as well with no further updates mentioned since. Last video shared by the team was in 2017. I tried to contact the developer, but no replies were submitted back towards me for over a year. Tragic really. I mean it had potential to be a real gem if worked on correctly.
